Shows pretty good pocket awareness... Throws an accurate ball... Doesn’t panic under pressure...
Mechanics are a little off, but we aren’t asking him to start this year... let him sit behind Eli and get coached up from Shurmur...
Take your pick at #2 (or trade down), then deal back up in the end of round 1 to solidify 5th year option...
State your case...
Simply because Webb is on the roster keeps you from taking (hypothetically) a QB that may be your future? If they have conviction about a guy, take him... I’m not saying they love Rudolph, but if they do, he could be a target... just haven’t see his name discussed much...
As far as value is concerned, I agree... I would rather spend a late 1st, early 2nd on Rudolph, than a #2 on Allen or Darnold...
if they move back and get extra picks i would be more inclined
to add someone like rudolph in round 2 but they have eli who can play well enough for 2 years if they dont cut him for cap reasons the ability to extend OBJ and collins could force their hands on eli due to the cap (unless he was willing to cut which is probably unlikely)
some on here like lamar jackson but he strikes me as a tyrell pryor gadget player/slash QB rather than a true QB,they have webb and we dont know what he is capable of if webb doesnt work out they have a down year and can take a QB
then or trade up if the guy they believe in is there so
i dont get the must draft a QB regardless camps logic on this if they believe any of those guys are worth the pick i have no problem with them drafting a QB but i dont dont see any of them as being that guy they are looking for and neither do many others
would rather add a draft pick for the 3rd QB in future than have a dud like geno smith clogging up a roster spot when you have no intention of using him in anything less than an emergency because you have nobody else but they have enough needs that unless they felt strongly enough about rudolph to take him over the places of higher need OL,LB,CB,DE,WR instead or got extra picks that would mitigate the risk of not taking one of your higher priority positions instead then it seams like a bit of luxury/wasted pick
These types of lazy responses always make me shake my head. As if coming from a certain conference or school automatically equates to failure.

That is very similar. Why take another?

You don't have a QB entering his 15th year, a #2 pick
and draft Mason Rudolph!!
Saos1n, he 'could be a target' but he won't.

Im saying, if Webb were in this draft he would grade out very close to Rudolph. They have extremely similar skill sets. Why would you waste a draft pick on a player that you already have?

Because we have to pick a QB in this draft no matter what. Eli is 37, you know.
Eli is 37 and we need to find his replacement as soon as we can, but you never take a player just to take a player. If Gettleman looks at the QBs and decides none of them are stars, then he'd do better to get other players - or take a "non-star" in the appropriate round.

I just don’t consider Rudolph as a value pick on day 2.
As others have said here and over and over for months posts on this same topic: unless you think that one of the QBs is THE GUY, you don't reach. You take the best player available in your draft slot.

We dont HAVE to take a QB in this draft. And if we DO HAVE TO take one, why would we take a QB that we already have? If we HAVE to take one, you take one at #2.

I cant tell if you are being sarcastic or not.
The OP is saying that we should consider taking Rudolph in round 2 or 3. Are you saying that we wont have a 2nd or 3rd round pick next year or the year after? We already have a 3rd round pick QB who has much of the same qualities as Rudolph. Why would we waste a 2nd/3rd round pick on a QB that has the same skill set/ceiling as a young player that we already have?
We get it. You're so locked into your opinion about this year's QB class that you're incapable of rational discussion, but we get it.

we will never ever have the chance to get a QB again. And when Eli leaves a few years down the road, where will we be?

He's being completely sarcastic. He's vehemently anti-QB.

If we are looking to draft a QB after round 1 (not that I'm suggesting it), two guys I'd look at are Kyle Lauletta and Mike White.
