If you recall, reports the Giants were interested.

The #Eagles are working to retain CB Patrick Robinson, sources say, and the expectation is they do it before the tampering window starts. After signing a 1-year deal in 2017, Robinson emerged as one of Philly’s stars. Now he should be back.
Are they still

Over the salary cap? They were $9M+ over, plus they need aprox. $5M for the rookie pool.
We might get a crack at Malcolm Butler

Although not sure that he fits in the slot
Aaron Colvin is a FA slot corner

to cost a ton so Eagles can fit him. They’re going to cut Curry and it sounds as if Bradham isn’t coming back.

I really liked Colvin coming out of OU. I believe he had an injury that lead to a drop during the draft. Good size and can tackle as well as cover.

That's OK, he'd be better then Apple. Apple has shown to provide tight coverage, but he can't make a play on the ball?! It's just frustrating watching him play. Maybe he could improve, but Butler is a much better option at this point. Let Apple be the 3rd CB. I think they'd have to put JJ in the slot on 3rd downs or in 3 WR sets.
Its smart for them to do it

He has shown he can play in their system and they will pay him to produce at the high level he played at. If another team signed Robinson, like us or anyone else, we would be projecting him to fit in at a much higher salary then he probably deserves. In other words, the risks probably outweigh the rewards for any team other than the Eagles.
There is a very

slim chance they resign him. I don't see it happening.

We should know by Wednesday (Mar-14) at 4:00p. That's when all teams have to be under the cap
I don't think Vinny Curry is that great by any stretch
Essex : 3/12/2018 11:33 am : link
but I would rather the Eagles have Patrick Robinson as opposed to Vinny Curry. So, if that is the internal tradeoff, I am ok with that as a Giants fan. Losing a pass rusher, even if just slightly above mediocre and overpaid, is much more meaningful than a journeyman CB who had a career year in large part because of the pressure on the opposing qb that the defensive line generated.
over 30 corner.....

....no thanks.

We're trying to get younger.

And, I kinda like throwing on the current crop of Eagle DB's to be quite honest.
