If the market dries up, it's still probably worth it to get a 4th or even a 5th for him.

Trade OBJ?
Ryan in Albany : 3/12/2018 2:35 pm : link
Are you high?
Lets look at the pros and cons of OBJ:
Keith : 3/12/2018 2:37 pm : link
We will start with the Cons:

He's a distraction
He tried to pee on the field
Everyone hates him
He's constantly tweeting and IG'ing
He drops too many passes
He's not a big time player(see the only game he's ever played in that matters)
He's married to an object
He's overrated

Pros:

I can't think of any

Conclusion: Addition by subtraction, just get rid of him.
Only if we get the Saints first round pick
RobCarpenter : 3/12/2018 2:38 pm : link
that they still owe us for Shockey.

Here's a con that's a pro. Without a threat at WR, Eli and the Giants will end up in the top 5 of the 2019 NFL draft.

Cleveland already got their WR

Gotta add major coke problem to the cons list.
Yeah - trade him

then you have to go out and find a #1 receiver.

when was the last stretch of games Eli Manning looked like an even remotely good QB without Odell Beckham as his top target... 2012? The day they get rid of Odell, they might as well send Eli packing too.
Yes - lets trade a great player

Doesn't make much
McNally's_Nuts : 3/12/2018 2:50 pm : link
sense to fill one hole and have an even larger hole open.

But hey, Keith says so!
Depends on compensation
lax counsel : 3/12/2018 2:54 pm : link
If they can get a 1st rounder for him in this draft, I'd say go for it. That would necessitate replacing the top receiving threat. However, I think this could all be part of a good rebuild for the Giants. Let's not forget, good free agent wide receives are available nearly every off season. And, it's hard to remember the last time a team won a championship with a receiver like Odell. It's much the same argument as not needing a top rb- it helps to have one but you need not have the best in the game to win.
Can't tell if people are serious
Pascal4554 : 3/12/2018 2:57 pm : link
I'll admit I was disgusted when the latest video surfaced, mostly because he is being a poor role model for kids, and the thought of trading him briefly crossed my mind along with anger at him being so stupid. He has to have lost a lot of endorsements with his behavior and damage to his image.

BUT...Lets not get crazy and trade the best player on our team... You give him a very long leash. Let's see if Shurmur/Gettleman have an impact on him this year. Or he could just get healthy, play at a high level, and I don't care what he does on social media.

OBJ
Hilary : 3/12/2018 2:59 pm : link
Probably not the only player in the league who smokes pot and sleeps with beautiful women.

Without question the best receiver in my lifetime which stretches back to the Kyle Rote and Del Shofner era.

Real issue is contract demands. If he will not sign a reasonable contract I would try to trade him or do what the Dolphins did with Landry- let him play out his contract and then tag him and trade him.
Better question...
Frankie in Flushing : 3/12/2018 2:59 pm : link
When does it get to the point where "Enough is Enough" as Donna Summer and Barbra Streisand once sang? When should the Giants make a move and trade him?

you can't think of any pros for Beckham? Like maybe before the injury he was on pace to be one of the best WRs to ever play football? That might be a pro.
Maybe ...

for Cleveland's 1 and 4.
"Should we trade OBJ?"
EricJ : 3/12/2018 3:03 pm : link
It really is a stupid question because it cannot be answered without identifying what we would get. THAT is the only determining factor... the ONLY one.

Even those who think the idea of trading him is stupid would agree to make the trade if the browns offered both #1 picks this year plus their first pick in the next two drafts.

So, there IS a price at some point for everyone.
FINALLY!! A "should we trade OBJ thread"!!

Personally, "enough is enough" came for me when I saw that he may be gay.

I find that to be appalling and a major distraction for an NFL team.

Looking at things through the lens of information is a powerful drug. More powerful than Coke!!

How high of pick are you talking about? How high will OBJ be at the time of the trade? Are there any horse socks? You've left out a lot of key considerations.

He would have to be completely unreasonable in contract negotiations for a year or more, a complete cancer to the locker room, poor play, serious injury, commit a violent felony, he has a long way to go in my opinion.

So far I've seen his antics more as poor judgement and a public relations mess, then signs of a serious problem, the dude is emotional, competitive, and wants to win. You don't draft talent like him very often.
Wait...
FatMan in Charlotte : 3/12/2018 3:17 pm : link
so we aren't getting punked by this Frankie in Flushing?? He's being serious.

I really can't tell and the last post about Donna Summer and Babs is just confounding me to no end.
