Chad Forbes @NFLDraftBites 3 minutes ago Huge indictment that despite major O-Line need, Giants aren’t eager resign Justin Pugh. From Voice in building ‘Never Giants Tough. Cares more about Barstool than his craft.’ An even bigger indictment would be if Jaguars weren’t interested and Pugh’s Agent had to call elsewhere. |
Yes I believe had he been drafted by a different team he might be entering fa under much different terms.
People forget how solid he was as a rookie. It seemed like an excellent pick and the position was solved long-term.

I think injuries derailed his promise. Even after coming back it seemed like he lost a step from the knee issues and he lost functional strength with the back and elbow injuries. Shit happens that may not be lack of coaching related.
Especially for employees that are too scared to put a name behind their comments. This team has been a wreck for half a decade. Nobody should be throwing around terms like 'not Giants tough' when this franchise has failed on so many levels, from front office to on-field. Everyone needs to wear that and shut up.
The Life with Justin Pugh - ( New Window )
That said - I think it's accurate and that there's truth to it.
Pugh doesn't strike me as a guy who has the same "want to" that some others have and I think it's fair to question whether he's worth the type of contract he's going to get.
I think he's 100% a goner.
And showing up to play every Sunday would be helpful...
time 2nd team All-Pro. Safe to say Reese botched that pick
Either way, definitely a major desperation reach pick, many of us said it at the time.
I just hope he doesn't carry a flask!
I bet he will have a 'designated blocker' so he can
continue to enjoy the barstool and get $12 million
per year.
You had Hart and maybe Flowers who's attitude was detrimental to the unit.
Where was Pugh in all this? If you're gonna shell out a nice contract to someone, they need to be a leader in the locker room
I don't think Pugh is a good player at all. That he can't stay on the field just compounds it.

shut the hell up. If you don’t want to resign him, fine, but no need to trash him on the way out.

Agree with you guys. I’m fine moving on from Pugh...no need to trash him to prove the Giants are right.
Seems like he was mentored by Geoff Schwartz :-)
Plays little, talks a ton.
