Disclaimer....I am not a gossip guy, don't claim to have any legit, hard inside information. I do get to talk to scouts and former scouts with contacts...but my scouting mentor always reminds me, the scouts rarely ever know what a team is going to do.
That said..ever since the combine, where Josh Allen stole the show, BUF has been more and more aggressive with their quest getting towards the top of the draft. They want a tough kid that can handle the weather (it's much worse than what we have here in NY/NJ and it DOES impact pro athletes). They want a big and strong guy. They want someone with less ego and more plain/old fashion love for football. Connecting a few dots, I think they are going to go all in on trying to get Allen. Potentially #12, #22, 2019 1st, and #53 (2nd), #65 (3rd).
That still leaves them with a 2nd and 3rd this year. So they have the ammo to get in to the top 5 if need be. If NYJ keeps signing QBs and DEN seems set on Keenum long term, the odds of BUF having to trade up to #2 for Allen is a little far fetched, but still possible.
Cleve - Darnold
Giants - Barkley
Leaving Indy with the prime spot for teams looking to trade up for the next QB. Not saying the Giants aren't a possibility,it's just that I think Indy is a better possibility for a trade back with Buffalo.
Indeed he did, he had high praise for him.
On the lower end FA side;
One vet the Giants are in on is the Rams Connor Barwin, but he has offers from the Raiders & Chargers. The Jets were trying to get the Eagles Beau Allen in, but doubt they can match Detroit's offer, a shade higher than Jacksonville's.
Even with Keenum, Elway indicates #5 is reserved for a QB & he's offered Siemian to NE for a six-pack
More and more I’m willing to trade back if it’s a good haul. It’s sounding as if the Giants truly are not married to keeping the pick.
UNLESS they have one graded a lot higher than others. Which is always possible.
No way Connor Barwin signing with Giants
Hearing no interest there. They want Nelson/Chubb
UNLESS they have one graded a lot higher than others. Which is always possible.
Sy,
If you’re the Giants and decide to trade out of 2 for a Bills package, who would you target with our bounty of picks in the first few rounds?

Hard to tell...this draft gets a little dicey outside of the top 5-6 guys. You hope someone slips....but...dangerous game. Can't get too cute with trading down...more picks does not always been better result.
CB Ward, OL Williams, WR Gallup, LB Evans, OT McGlinchey
UNLESS they have one graded a lot higher than others. Which is always possible.
I could see that if they were sure the Giants wouldn't take a QB, and Indy wouldn't trade their pick to a team who wanted a QB.
IMO, they can't risk passing on a QB at 1 and settling on the 3rd QB. No way they have all 3-4 QBs rated the same. Maybe they'd have two rated real close but not three, and can't risk those two being gone. Especially with passing on the QBs they have in the past couple of drafts. Different regime but they can't make the same mistake.
Would likely be a draft night trade
Giants draft......Darnold?
I think Allen is going to be the best of this bunch.

How about adding Darius Guiese at 12 or 22?

I agree. Browns really going to win the lottery big by getting Darnold plus Barkley.
It's not in the Giants DNA to trade back.

Cutting vets and missing out on key FA we think they wanted to sign- I think they are going to forced into trading back... they are going to need to field an NFL roster which at this point looks bleak.

I wouldn’t say that for non Reese drafts. Accorsi traded down in ‘06 and took Kiwi.
Agree. The Giants need top end picks and they need to commit to the trenches. Attack OL and DL in the draft. They get the right guys and they’ll be right back in the mix.
Look at what Philly has done. They’ve pumped and continue to pump a lot of resources into their OL/DL. It’s not sexy but that’s what wins games.

It's not often they have the number 2 pick either. The only team I see them trading back with is Cleveland. If they can get Nelson. If they feel Indy wants Nelson they will probably just draft him. Otherwise they will trade backs with The Browns and get the Guard.
That would remind me of what the Chargers did to us when they knew we covered Eli. They took him and made us pay them the farm for him. Conceivably, if Buf is set on Allen, we could take him and do the same.
This is correct. And I don't think there's even a team option for year two for Bridgewater which goes to show you they really don't have super high hopes of him salvaging his career.
Jets wouldn't let Allen get past 6. Though they really have their heart set on Mayfield.

OMG so awesome....Forget qb since we have a fosil playing now and Webb who could not musted first team reps in a 3-13 season....Yea am sure those picks will make this team great for 15 years
its going to be a long offseason.. thats for sure
If he passes muster on all other concerns for the FO, I would love that pick - it's the Jerry Reese in all of us to fall in love with the measurables, he's the jpp of qbs!

I generally agree that if the NYG were two trade down, it would have to mean a) they had a strong conviction about Webb b) they were absolutely blown away w/ an offer to move down.
In terms of your tone, don't be a dick.

Also, the correct spellings are FOSSIL and MUSTER. Furthermore, I don't put a lot of value in the playing time decisions by BM.
