I guess the key question
Giantsfan79 : 3/14/2018 11:33 am : link
how many coaches/scouts/GM types will the Giants send to other QB workouts. We'll find out tomorrow with Rosen.
What a waste of time...

Keep something in mind with all of these

The NFL draft is an organism that changes as it goes on. We may end up taking him down the ladder in round 1 or in 2 if he lasts. It's also to create a book on all NFL players for FA and and beyond. They aren't always clues.
Any other Oklahoma prospect he may be scouting?

They sent everybody (and the kitchen sink) to Eli's workout...

The Giants contingent was so large that those on BBI who favored Sean Taylor thought they were sending a message to Kerry Collins that he needed to agree to an extension or else! Collins was due $7M in the last year of his contract at the time.

Good point. But usually FAs have the most important piece - actual NFL game film...

Ogbonnia Okoronkwo. Also TE Mark Andrews. Not that the Giants are in the market for a TE, but you put a grade on a guy and then you see how need compares to BPA when you're on the clock.

Bet Shula's on a plane to LA tonight.

I think he's the best of the QBs this year.

I'm not a fan and I don't think he's Gettleman's prototype OL, but at some point in the draft he will represent value.

From Boylhart...

Orlando is a confident, smart, big and athletic offensive lineman who does his job with the efficiency of an accountant methodically looking over your books just before you have to meet with the IRS. He is the size of a Winnebago with long arms that could challenge the “Wondering Albatross” for the longest wingspan in nature. He has good foot movement but what Orlando brings to his game more than his athletic size and talent is his confidence in his overall game and techniques NOT to guess or overreact to his opponents on pass blocking downs. Because of his long arms Orlando can wait for his opponents initial pass rush move to the outside or inside and then react to cut off the path to his quarterback. He is a solid run blocker getting out of his stance quick enough to move his opponent off the line of scrimmage. Orlando reminds me of the Buffalo Bills LT Cordy Glen.

Yes, exactly. Thank you for saying so.
At best this guy is going to be Case Keenum II.

Bullshit. No comparison. Mayfield is closer to Brees. Keenum did not have "it." Mayfield is going to be pretty good.
I’m not a fan of Mayfield and he is a boom or bust guy but
Ivan15 : 3/14/2018 6:19 pm : link
He has all the right elements to his game, an over the top throwing motion like Brees, and a Napoleanic complex that could make him successful.

I wouldn’t count on him to be my QB for a couple of years but he could develop behind a solid bridge QB.
They may have seen all they need to see of Rosen but likely either
Ivan15 : 3/14/2018 6:22 pm : link
Shula or Shurmur will be at Rosen’s workout to see Miller too.
Gil Brandt liked his work out

@Gil_Brandt: Final numbers from Baker Mayfield workout at #OUProDay

70 attempts
62 completions
7 uncatchables
1 drop

Not that he needed it but helped himself. Good velocity, moves around well, can flick it deep. Made $$

How does throwing against air all of sudden change your thoughts about a player? You couldn’t pick a more favorable situation and yet this environment improves your evaluation of the player. This is not a knock against Mayfield but I just don’t see how this environment is a better indicator of a player’s skills than 3-4 years of game tape you know against real competition.
