sources get things wrong. Don’t worry if it turns out not happening M89.
If they do this trade Gettleman will look foolish in the years to come. It’s like a kicking an extremely large bucket down the road.
Or it will be genius. Cowboys trade of Herschel Walker netted them Emmitt Smith, Darren Woodson, and Russell Maryland (eventually, trading picks they received from Minnesota to maneuver). When you think about what 4 picks, 3 in the first two rounds, adding to our existing picks, and a 1st rounder next year, could potentially do...is set up the franchise for sustained success. Particularly if Buffalo's 2019 first rounder is parlayed into a franchise QB.
And you know what the difference is? The Cowboys already had Aikman. They could afford to make that move and accumulate assets. If we already had a young franchise QB, I'd be in full favor of moving down and getting whatever we could for our pick.

I didnt see Joe Schmo at blank agency said this. BBI has been a great source of Giants as well as other info for me over the better part of two decades. Wanted to share the info I got. But thanks for your concern.
Let's just say hypothetically you got accurate info.
Posting it publicly on the internet threatens the deal between the two teams. Leaks like that on the internet and in the media literally burned The Org in 2016 draft.
Did your source give you permission to share this info? I'm guessing no. Maybe BBI has been good to you, but you aren't being a good friend to your source by sharing something almost certainly told in confidence.

Are you actually serious? Please get off your soapbox here. BBI did not "ruin" any great NYG draft strategy in 2016. The leaks were elsewhere, and ended up here as well. But you can believe what you want. Just stop preaching. Trynig to scare away info and discussion is NOT the point of the message board, Quite the contrary.

Both of their 1st round (12 and 22)
Both of their 2nd round (53 and 56)
Fourth 4rd (121)
2019 1st
If we got that we could use one of the second round picks to jump back into the top 10 if we wanted to.
No thanks. If you trade down for a haul, maximize and use all the picks.
I disagree sammo. If we move down to 12...and then Nelson says slips past the jets @ 6...and you call the Bucs and offer #12 and #56 (acquired from the bills) to move up to #7 to pick nelson.
Then still have #22, #53, #121, and a there 2019 1st while still all our picks and acquiring nelson....that would fill a lot of issues and still get the lineman we coveted if thats our plan

OMG, those two things are not related. The Boys selected Steve Walsh in the supplemental draft too. So they have 2 1sr RD QB's..

If the Browns draft Barkley, we trade with Bills. We get several picks to build this team and draft a QB next year or replace Eli in free agency in 3-4 years. If not, we draft Barkley. That simple. We cannot pass on Barkley at number 2.

Go ahead and take a look at the QBs available for next year's draft. You'll come running back here pleading the Giants to stay put and draft a QB this year at #2.

I don't know as much as the next guy what the giants feel internally about Webb but you seem to be writing him off pretty easily if the Giants like him enough to give him a go to replace Eli then we wouldn't at least have to worry about addressing QB until Eli retires and Webb proves he can't do it...its risky but we aren't there to know if Webb has the goods or not...its not like he was some undrafted FA he was a 3rd round pick.
My point has nothing to do with belief or disbelief. It is about discussion and conversation on all things Giants. Can you 100% disprove him, or do you just enjoy responding in absurd prose and trying to put down a poster that thought he had info the rest of us might enjoy discussing?
Stopping being an asshole. If you don't like the OP and the post, go elsewhere. The OP being right or wrong is almost irrelevant (being he's not Slade), it the discussions and banter about the Giants, not your feelings on information dissemination, that we are here for.

We have all this free agent news going on and people feel like now is the time to post this stuff. If you're going to be a fake asshat, at least do it during a slow time.
They're not making any major draft trades until draft day.
Umm... remind us again, when was it that the Bills completed a first round trade to obtain the 12th pick of this draft?
I’m not saying this trade rumor is valid. But your argument is demonstrably false.
Just came on BBI & scrolled through this thread, Â
DaddyM89 is a long time, reputable poster & I'm sure all of us get excited when we see "asshat"info. That being said,Gettleman said a while ago You don't get too cute with the #2 & you want to get a "HOF" type player with it. #12 is too far back I'm still in the franchise QB camp but would be okay w/Barkley. Don't see that happening at such a lower pick. But,this was fun to read through!
Both of their 1st round (12 and 22)
Both of their 2nd round (53 and 56)
Fourth 4rd (121)
2019 1st
If we got that we could use one of the second round picks to jump back into the top 10 if we wanted to.
This will be a good point to look at as far as value. I know people don't necessarily go by the draft value chart, but for the sake of argument (since NFL teams have used it), let's look at the value.
The #2 pick in the draft is worth 2600 points
Per the grouping above-
#12- 1200
#22- 780
#53- 370
#56- 340
Total - 2690 points.
And that doesn't include the value of the 1st round pick next year for the Bills. Where if they win the Super Bowl and pick #32- 590 points.
So 3,280 points (assuming Bills win Super Bowl) to give up 2600 points.
Pure value, looking at the numbers, the Giants don't want a fair deal, they want a deal they will win. If that offer is on the table, based on the numbers, the Giants should do it.
It's a three-team trade in which the Bills get the #2 pick and Ereck Flowers, the Giants get the #3 pick and #53 overall and the Colts get a ton of picks from the Bills.
The Browns take Darnold
The Bills take Allen
The Giants take Rosen
The Browns take Barkley
The Broncos take Mayfield
Both of their 1st round (12 and 22)
Both of their 2nd round (53 and 56)
Fourth 4rd (121)
2019 1st

Missed the 4th- which is an extra 52 points.
Odds are the Giants would have to send something back, like their own 4th or whatever. A 4th won't make or break it either way.

Not asking to out anyone but is there any legs to this?
It's a three-team trade in which the Bills get the #2 pick and Ereck Flowers, the Giants get the #3 pick and #53 overall and the Colts get a ton of picks from the Bills.
The Browns take Darnold
The Bills take Allen
The Giants take Rosen
The Browns take Barkley
The Broncos take Mayfield
Ohh, a Milton double feature - trade Flowers AND get Rosen! Why not make it a five team trade which also results in the Yankees getting Gerrit Cole so you can get all of your obsessions into one post?
I don't really care what Daddy's source thinks. That's between them.

But hey, 250 comments and counting.

You are an idiot

Fuck no! I'm learning all about the massive power BBI has over the NFL, don't you fucking ruin this for me!
Go ahead and take a look at the QBs available for next year's draft. You'll come running back here pleading the Giants to stay put and draft a QB this year at #2.

Thought exercise. League wide. Where do you think rumors start?
Quote:
If the Browns draft Barkley, we trade with Bills. We get several picks to build this team and draft a QB next year or replace Eli in free agency in 3-4 years. If not, we draft Barkley. That simple. We cannot pass on Barkley at number 2.

Stopping being an asshole. If you don't like the OP and the post, go elsewhere. The OP being right or wrong is almost irrelevant (being he's not Slade), it the discussions and banter about the Giants, not your feelings on information dissemination, that we are here for.

They're not making any major draft trades until draft day.
Umm... remind us again, when was it that the Bills completed a first round trade to obtain the 12th pick of this draft?
I’m not saying this trade rumor is valid. But your argument is demonstrably false.
The Browns take Darnold
The Bills take Allen
The Giants take Rosen

Missed the 4th- which is an extra 52 points.
Odds are the Giants would have to send something back, like their own 4th or whatever. A 4th won't make or break it either way.

Sooooo YUP, sorry DaddyM. Thrillson Phillips is calling you out on either purposefully sharing false bs and/or needlessly violating the confidence of a friend. The Thrill appreciates how you copied page 1 of LimerickGuy's textbook with the whole "if I'm wrong, I'll be a man and admit it." Wow, such integrity. So much integrity. This same cycle happens every offseason. Gloved one. Slade. Coach Justy. LimerickGuy. Its a master class in hucksterism. I've sold monorails to Brockway, Ogdenville, and North Haverbrook and by gummit it put them on the map!
These guys. The insider info. Either they are a) making it up (almost always), or b) betraying a source
"Here is sensitive information that I'm sharing without permission, if it's bs I'll cop to it ...because I AM A MAN."
Latimer - you might be a reasonable bro, bro. Do you think DaddyM's source would approve of this thread?
And yes, rumors often start on message boards (or some corner of the internet) and fester into twitter and climb the latter of visibility. The internet is not a sacred or hidden palace.
But about that false rumor on BBI that made its way into the news cycle ... please tell. I'm interested in hearing this story. Never heard that.

As Sonic Youth mentioned I did attend University of Miami, interned and worked for the football team under Al Golden. Still friendly and keep in touch with some current and former NFL players including Sean Spence, Senatrell Henderson among others. Also have a friend who is a low level NFL agent but is very connected with the inner goings of the league. That's about all I can say without giving away my source. Just wanted to provide a little more clarity.
Daddy o
THRILL LOVES YOUR STYLE BRO.
Here's a question. If you want to protect your source, why share this allegedly sensitive info on an internet message board? Why do it??
You are betraying the confidence of somebody close to you. In order to...stir up discussion on a message board? Look like an insider for an audience of anonymous posters?
True or not, if you ever find yourself in possession of "insider info," Thrill Ride begs you to keep it private. Both for the sake of your relationship with source and also The Org's dealings.
Leaks a couple seasons ago caused us to get jumped for Jack Conklin and wind up with Eli Apple.
the thought that a GM of some other team is going to use this post to formulate some sort of draft strategy is both ludicrous and laughable
SONIC YOUT
THRILL loves your style, Broseph Gordon-Levitt.
That's amazing that you used two adjectives, ludicrous and laughable, to describe one statement. And both those words start with the letter "L". Oh my stars, what a wordsmith!
Try to follow Thrilly Bob Thornton on this very simple journey:
-Beat writers read message boards (they do_
-They contact their sources to chase leads
-Smoke
-Fire
-The alleged insider info surfaces on Twitter
You might believe it is laughable, ludicrous, leviticus, litigious, linsane but the internet is a powerful machine.
jordan raanan must love all those juicy tid-bits Slade has been dropping him. no wonder the giants are such a mess..
Jordan is a great guy and an ethical writer. He might remember when someone on BBI posted a false rumor deliberately "just to see if it would enter the news cycle" ... and it did!!
One of the newspapers picked it up and the poster later confessed to the chicanery. Bad journalism is obviously a factor in the proliferation of leaks .
Not asking to out anyone but is there any legs to this?
The Browns take Darnold
The Bills take Allen
The Giants take Rosen
The Browns take Barkley
The Broncos take Mayfield
Ohh, a Milton double feature - trade Flowers AND get Rosen! Why not make it a five team trade which also results in the Yankees getting Gerrit Cole so you can get all of your obsessions into one post?
I also don't care if you have been posting since Al Gore created the internet. You sound like an ass. Your posts add no value, and it is compounded by your moronic use of the English language. We understand how SOME internet rumors start. We get your point. If you don't like the thread, leave it. That's my point
Moronic? Please explain. Thrill Allen/Peterson always accepts notes.
And I love this thread. I thought you and I were becoming bro's, bro. You accepted my eccentric verbosity, I forgave you for being 160 lbs of skinny fat loser. Bro's.
