#Rams veteran C John Sullivan was invited on a visit by the #Giants, source said, as they continue to try to improve their OL. He’s drawing interest from the #Redskins, too.
and they were saying that the Rams need a center with Sullivan leaving, and they thought Richburg might have gone there. They were speculating that the guy from the Dolphins could end up in L.A.
So they sounded pretty sure that Sullivan was leaving.
the Rams line was terrible in 2016. Last year they signed Whitworth and Sullivan allowing Roger Saffold to kick inside to left guard and thereby upgrading 3 positions.
We would be doing the exact same thing only Solder is 5 years younger.
If we draft Barkley and he is as advertised maybe we can have our own Gurley.

We are just missing one important piece, Jared Goff.
puts Jones where he belongs, quality depth at both guard positions and center. Unless they think he is potentially starting at RG, which I doubt.
I am really curious about the Greco signing. I wonder what they have in mind there. He might not make the team, depending on the draft.
I have to admit, everytime I see someone here on BBI automatically plugging Flowers in at RT, I get irritated.
There's no way the Giants are going to hand the RT position to Flowers. Nor are they going to hand the RG position to Flowers. His scholarship has expired.
The Giants also have Wheeler and to a lesser extent Bisnowaty (he was not good last year). There's going to be competition.
And, I don't think Gettleman is done in free agency with the OL yet (assuming Sullivan is signed, big assumption).

Our 2nd round pick is very early. It's about where we drafted Chris Snee. If we draft the right player we can easily draft a starting guard.
I'd be surprised if we don't go OT or OG with the 34 pick. There should be some good ones of each available. The guards may be stronger as a group there, but we may have to look at need. We've got some potential now, but Solder is really the only solid starter of the 5 going in.

Omameh is a solid starter too. His name just isn't as familiar as Solders.
And draft someone like Price (he probably won’t be available) who can play center or guard, you would plug him in at RG until Sullivan retires. That would be light years ahead of where they’ve been. They would have Jones as quality backup and two young guys in Wheeler and Biz to factor into the mix at tackle. That’s a MUCH better unit than we’ve had for some time.

I'd like to see an OT and OG both drafted, which would provide you with quality backups to take over when the signed veterans move on.

Saying Flowers at right tackle, that may not happen, he may be a worse right tackle, I would not count on that at all, if anything, guard. If anything.
Meaning Greenwich High Cardinals, where Sullivan starred. (Steve Young and Ricky Bell, too.)
I heard he bought a house in the area (I think it is Greenwich) so perhaps that would give the Giants the edge to sign him.
Aside from Sullivan being from my alma mater, I really think a center position held down by him and Jones (budding youth and solid vet) would be ideal, not to mention economical. And the line would have another vet leader to go with Solder.

He will not be handed the RT job. He will be competing with Wheeler and possibly a draft pick for the job. I would rather see Wheeler win the job with Flowers moving inside to RG.
If he signs, could open the door for the Giants to draft Billy Price. Provided the medicals check out and they believe he will make a full recovery from that pec tear, the team could have their future center on the roster ready for the following season.

Ironically Webb could be that Goff
Chances are that he is Sean Mannion.
lmao, how you could possibly know that? kid was talented...why dont we give shurmur a chance to analyze him...
lots of despair after failing to secure the top OG on Monday. If NYG was just going after the top FA with all-out money and no other plans they might as well have hired me for GM. It's clear all along that the owners knew they had to improve the OL and would have asked DG how to get it done. He had to have an answer better than "get the highest priced OL in the league through FA", or even "you can't do it all in one year, we're going to improve a little and continue to suck for at least a year or two on the OL". He had to be able to give them confidence that he would be able to find guys like Sullivan and Omameh on reasonable contracts who would play like hog-mollies for the NYG.
What never disappoints is the over-reaction BBI has to almost any news.

Jay....I don't know that. That's why I said "could be". Webb has been compared to Goff by others. LMAO

He's from Greenwich, CT. Born in Mt. Kisco.
+1
Jones contract is not guaranteed, a draft choice could replace him too but I actually like Jones.
Cut Jerry ASAP and keep Halapio, Bisnowaty, Wheeler and maybe even Jones as reserves.

LT Solder LG Omameh C Sullivan RG 2nd rd pick RT Flowers
Wheeler, Jones, Greco or Halapio as backups.
We would be doing the exact same thing only Solder is 5 years younger.

est, I too could see Jones at RG, although it might not be ideal.

He is going to be too pricey. Likely close to the deal Richburg received.

Of course! Trade for Duke Johnson, sign Pouncey, and then accumulate a roster full of Miami Hurricanes!

Who said you can't rebuild a line in one offseason?

Reese couldn't build one in 5 years. As we've seen.

As C is the QB of the line, using both gives you two sets of eyes.
Add one starter from draft and bobs your uncle.
Our bench is already better.
OG , or LT that currently fits RT better @34?
It we can get a visit at least.
Don't know much about this guy.

It's precisely where we drafted Snee - #34 overall.

I believe the Mara's like Emilio's in Harrison.
Price tag will be too high and he's a poor locker room guy - I wouldn't hold my breath on that.

Mara and Sullivan should knock out the contract over a bottle of Villa and Branzino at Alba’s in Port Chester.
