He has played both and I think that he is a better fit at RG. I wonder if Chad Wheeler is a possible option at LG. He is athletic enough to pull and with an entire offseason in the S&T program he should be much stronger when he arrives for OTA's. He is the same weight as Pugh with the frame to add more size. A few scouting reports suggested that he could be a good fit inside.
He is a big, physical, smash mouth lineman. Can probably play right guard also. This is the type of line Gettleman obviously wants. That was my knock on Reese is he seemed to think that a big lineman meant a smash mouth lineman and we had a team stocked with huge guys who play like women

Must be LG unless they go WillH or exclusively LG@34.

During preseason play Wheeler showed good athleticism and technique at tackle. I hope he pans out and finds a job opposite Solder. I'd like to see (L to R) Solder, Flowers, Jones (or draft pick, Omameh; Wheeler.

As far as I know, Wheeler was actually a pretty good OL prospect and that injuries as well as some off the field issues made him drop. I think we may have scored with this one. He needs to get bigger/more physical, but he was "ok for an undrafted rookie" to my knowledge.
Thank you for all the information that you've provided.

Love the contract, too.
Well done.
Omameh started 9 games the Bears at RG in 2015 and all 16 games for Tampa Bay in 2014.
I'm not as thrilled as some of you. He sounds like a stop gap addition with the hope to upgrade down the road.
Shocked.
Not really for a starter
Youve been unbearable lately.

I likeyou as a poster, but of late you have just been inordinately negative about ANYTHING the team does.
How is 15 million with 5.5 of it guaranteed "too much" or "awful?"

He isn't the brightest one.

Same. I wouldn't mind another mid/low tier OL or secondary signing like this.
