Outside of Jenkins, Apple and the new guy Curtis Riley (had no clue about this guys until he signed with the Giants) and couple that with the release of DRC... a position that was an absolute strength some 2 years ago seems to be a bit a question mark at the moment. I understand we are just a few days into free agency and the draft also offers an opportunity in regards to adding depth at the corner position but I have to wonder what the strategy is here for DG and the Giants front office? Any chance we're waiting for asking prices to go down? You have to wonder if Cockrell is still in play here. I'm not nervous (yet) when it comes to our corners but extremely curious to see what the end game is here.
From what I understand, he is very smart in the film room. He had some social media missteps in DC and spotty play in 2016.
Not sure if the Skins tired of him, he bucked their fucked up organization, or Norman’s contract sucked up too much from the position.
Won’t cost much more than DRC’s old contract. Much younger.
Also Ross Cockrell still out there.
----------------
Draft QB round 1
Draft OLine Round 2
Draft at least 2 corners in the next 3 rounds. And either a RB or a Olineman or DE with the other pick.
----------
Or
Draft QB round 1
Draft Corner round 2 (I'd prefer not to do this. Would have to be a huge disparity on the board)
Draft Oline round 3
Draft at least 1 Corner in round 4 or 5. And either a RB or a Olineman or DE with the other pick.
**After going 2-14 it's kind of hard to have no holes the following year. And over-spending so much for Solder leaves them a bit hamstrung.
Thanks.
So should we not try to get better?
Hell, it's a long, long road to training camp.
There are going to be more cuts, especially camp cuts; more trades, the draft, undrafted free agents. The roster isn't going to be made in the first two official days of free agency.
Will we draft a cah'nah? - ( New Window )
Visiting Cards today per Garafolo. Other teams interested.
Probably out of NYG price range.
