Say we get #4 and Clevelands 1& 3 in round 2
Cleve goes Darnold and Barkley at 1 & 2
Jets take the kid from Wyoming
Giants sitting at 4 have a choice of Rosen or Nelson. I'll go with Rosen and we have our QB
With the first three picks in round 2 the Giants take
Isaiah Wynn, Billy Price and Darius Guise if available . If he's gone you can still get Jones, Chubb or Michel.
This solves our OL with a quality guard and center prospect and still provides a good RB. Not to Barkley level but more than serviceable.
In round 3 we take Anthony Averett a cb from Alabama. Solves a definite need with a quality player.
In round 4 we go wr. How about Daesean Hamilton of Penn St.
He's 6'2 catches everything and runs great routes. If he's gone the 6'5 receiver from ND could be available.
Finally in round 5 we take Victor Azeem a lb from Washington.
We come out of this scenario solving a lot of priblems and still get a QB. Something to think about
we got a 4th round comp pick that we traded. We own our 4th round pick this year
Trading down with Denver would make a lot more sense.
The Jets are taking a QB at 3 and unless the Browns want to possibly have to settle for the 4th best QB, they have to take a QB at 1.
That means there is only one team standing in the way of the Browns taking Barkley at 4 (if that's the player they covet) and if I'm Kevin Costner, I'm gambling that the NYG are taking a QB at 2. That means the Browns can take their top QB and the top player at some other position with their first 2 picks.
And the Browns are never going to give up 33 and 35.
The only other thing that may get thwm to trade js if they really want Barkley and they fear we will take him at 2. But, I don't think it's enough to trade up for with the other potential players available.
At 5 you are guaranteed one of the top 4 qbs or Barkley.
Imagine getting the bounty from trading down and still getting your qb of the future or Barkley.
Buffalo is the only real option now.
Or Cleveland could take him.

They know QB is going at 2 and 3 and they can get Barkley at 4 (if they even want him). The only way they won't is if the Giants are taking him at 2. If they were, they wouldn't trade with Cleveland. No one is trading to 2 to get Barkley.
If Cleveland has a clear cut preference, they can clearly do something about with all that draft capital in the second round. They should give up those picks and next years #1 to us and we move back to #4.
Cleveland gets their #1 QB and Barkley, and we probably go non-QB...
Cleveland will ruin the best players at 2 positions.
2) If they want Barkley with their second first round pick they must now trade with us or risk losing him too.
Or if the Giants trade down Barkley could still be there at 4.
Either way there is no reason for the Browns to trade down. Its just wait and see what the Giants do and no matter what they do they will get an excellent player at 4....and they'll have their QB.
PS. Giants better take Barkley.
2) If they want Barkley with their second first round pick they must now trade with us or risk losing him too.
That’s a huge if since they a,ready signed Carlos Hyde. I don’t see them wanting Barkley now. They could take Fitzpatrick or Chubb at 4 however. I do not see their need to trade up with us. There will be suitors for that #2, but I don’t think it’ll be Cleveland.
This "generational" thing on Barkley has gotten a bit out of control when its just as likely some other rookie RB(s) will have excellent 2018 seasons and pro careers.

This. The Barkley hype train is out of control on this site. I don't think he's that much better it will have that much better numbers than Guice next year.

Cleveland controls this draft and having passed on Wentz and Watson, they have no choice but to take a QB at #1. They can’t sit back and let a QB come to them. That’s the strategy they employed the past few years that got them to 1-31. They need to pick their QB and and go with it. If they have a non-QB on their board they feel is destined for Canton, odds are greater than 50-50 he will be there at #4. They can also beg the Giants to trade into #2. If the Giants don’t, odds are again they are taking a QB. They just can’t sit back and get the 3rd QB off the board.

This. ^^^^
Hell, we debate it everyday...
Plenty of teams fall in love with exactly the type of prospect allen is. Wouldn't be shocked at all.
Unless he's an all time great RB, what ever production he puts up can be found later in the draft.

Accurate analysis IMO. The Browns would not trade a lot to make that move. Might give a little to assure the Giants do not trade #2 to someone who wants Barkley or take Barkley themselves. They would get a much better deal from someone who wants to jump the NYJ for a QB.
