IF (5)
Bird
Walker
Gregorious
Drury
Wade
SP (5)
Severino
Tanaka
Sabathia
Gray
Montgomery
BP (8)
Chapman
Betances
Robertson
Kahnle
Green
Warren
Shreve
Cessa
Not sure Ellsbury will be ready to start the season and may be left in Tampa on 15 day DL to get into game shape.
I would guess at that point Austin would take his place. McKinney could be an option, too.
I think Torreyes is sent to SWB at least to start the season.
Clint Frazier is just stuck - between the concussion and too many MLB OFs, he will return to SWB and get well and be ready to replace Hicks/Ellsbury when they get their usual injury.
Since Walker, Drury and Wade can play multiple IF positions, 5 players easily cover the IF.
I would prefer Heller or Holder to Shreve except Shreve is a lefty.
I kept Cessa as I'm not sure who the #25 man would be - they may very well stay with 7 BP, keep Tyler Austin as an extra bat, 1B and OF option.
Is that a little high?
Maybe Andujar makes 25?
Out goes Cessa?
...on 25.
This.
Andujar needs playing time at 3rd everyday and to my eye swings way to hard at everything. He needs more seasoning in the field and at the plate. Future is bright for him somewhere in the Majors.
...on 25.
He'll be on the 25. He is out of options. Could be trade bait at some point, but they're not giving him away for nothing. He is a lefty, can pitch multiple innings, and has typically had solid stats.

Lefty and multiple innings are the keys. They have nothing to replace him as a lefty reliever.

Makes the team to start, Cessa doesn't. Then it's good.
This.
Agree.
German is the first starter recalled.
German is the first starter recalled.
Yeah ,Yat you're right German is the #6 SP in waiting at SWB not Cessa!
Some of the foul balls they hit that 1st inning could have killed someone. If you're sitting low down the lines this year please keep your eyes on the game.O.
ne look down to your 0hone and you may find a baseball lodged in your skull.
Probably the best hitter on the team.
...can do some damage at the bottom of this line-up.
...pain in the ass for opposing pitchers.
You just can't f-ing let up.
There are no easy outs, and there are several serious power bats up and down this line-up.
It ain't gonna be fun facing this team.
If Torryes were 6' tall nobody would care about him.

I agree on Cessa, but not sure the Yankees do. If it were me, he'd be gone and a spot opened at AAA for another deserving soul.
I like Torreyes, he can adequately sub at 3 IF positions and is a tough out, but Wade is a better version with a high upside. The question is if the Yanks are willing to sit Wade in the Bronx 3 or 4 days a week or play him 6 days a week at SWB.
I think they are rolling the dice on Drury that he can be a 2nd Didi and at worst a marker until Andujar gets a little more polish. Walker is definitely a 1 year signing and may even be traded by July if Torres lights a fire and Wade doesn't fold.
Agree The point was-who is the SP in waiting at SWB when they need a sixth starter!

Why do you need 13 pitchers in APril? Or ever for that matter.

Yes, I agree, Walker is here to buy time for Gleyber Torres to get rust off and have at least 40-50 games seasoning. After that all bets are off. Agree on Drury too. If he's Didi the 2nd, another HR for Cashman. If not, and Andujar forces their hand, no big deal. He gives them flexibility to package some guys for a front line starter.
