Let me start off by stating that I am in the camp that believes that Eli can rebound with the right pieces in place. I am also an advocate of taking Barkley with the #2 pick, if available at least partially for that reason.
The question I have is if I remember correctly, McAdope changed Eli's mechanics drastically. Primarily He had him taking the first step back under center with his left foot instead of his right, or vice versa, reducing the number of steps by one in the drop back. Also, his primary emphasis, which still seems to be the trend, was getting the ball out as quickly as possible, ala west coast.
Under Coughlin and Gilbride, Eli had a conventional drop and the offense was vertical based with lots of timing routes and play action.
I don't know enough about Shurmur's offense to be able to speculate on whether he favors short passing or timing routes (I believe it is more west coast), but will he have Eli go back to his old drop back? Can this make a difference? Has the opposite foot lead on the drop back become commonplace? I know that getting the ball out quick is still important and with the OL we have had the last several years even more so, but in doing so WRs need to run quicker shorter routes and it gives the QB less time to go through his progressions. (I also know that our High School WRs last year probably benefited with shorter routes).
Any Xs & Os guys able to help educate me?
As per usual it’s never Eli’s fault . It’s Killdrive, Senile Tom, McDope (11-win rookie season. Fired .75 year 2!), Sully -the dog ate his homework , etc.
Search for Eli Manning McAdoo footwork, you'll see several articles on this subject.
I don't know what Shurmur favors. I can't imagine he's just going to live with something he doesn't like just because it's how someone else did it.

What in gods name are you ranting about?
Side comment: cannot understand how anyone could have so much hostility towards a player who helped bring us 2 SBs, is a team player and on almost all accounts is an outstanding person. It has been said here a lot; we will all regret the day Eli Manning is no longer the QB of the NY Giants.
I always want them to win, but I hope Eli Manning goes out and proves the a-holes trying to force him out the door what this team could have been if front office changes were made five years ago.

How did he ever throw for over 40,000 yards and over 330 TDs?
Since you say everyone blames everyone but Eli. Can we say you only blame Eli?

you did not remember correctly . McAdoo changed his footwork . Standard WCO . They won’t be changing it back . Eli, however, starting fucking around with a fraud known as Tom House. Never an accurate short passer, Manning is now suspect on his deep throws, which tend to hang and wobble, especially when he’s throwing to his ,
