about what the Giants should do with the first. I think I will voice mine. I am in favor of all but 3 things:

1 Taking Nelson at 2. I think we should move back to 4 or 5 get more picks in this and next years draft and then take Nelson.

2. Trading ALL the way back to 12 or further. I think we miss our opportunity to grab a blue chip or top qb. FYI blue chips IMO are Barkley, Nelson, Fitzpatrick and Chubb.

3 Taking Josh Allen. I just do not like him as a NFL qb. I know he has a big arm but if you cant complete more than 60% or more passes in FBS where the talent level is FAR below Div I then you will have a very hard time in the NFL where defenders are bigger, faster and stronger and the throwing windows are far smaller.

thank you for your time and consideration. God bless you all!

Id take Nelson before a trade down
Ten Ton Hammer : 3/18/2018 5:07 pm : link
If they feel like he's legit. Locking up a position for 10 years means more to me satisfying a fetish for trades and picks.

Other than that I agree with everything.

Agree all 3 of these scenarios are not on the top of my list either.

Give me a QB they believe in. Barkley, if they don't. and if it's Nelson, I want more picks.

I don't want McCinchley or Edmunds as my 1st pick.

I'll take your post further to say, I would prefer not Defense in RD. 1. We have to help this offense.
I agree with your first and third points.
Ira : 3/18/2018 5:09 pm : link
Regarding the second point, there are a few players who might be as good or close to as good as the players you named - specifically Derrius Guice, Roquan Smith, Denzel Ward and Derwin James might be there.
I completely agree

I prefer 1 if our QB of the future is not there.

If you think any of the players are a cut way above you take them at 2
Rudy5757 : 3/18/2018 5:38 pm : link
I will take a 10 year all pro at any position. No one will complain if a guard is the best and you took him at 2. But, he better be that good and not a Justin Pugh. It's hard to take that risk at 2 with a guard.

Yes, that is Div 1. While the quality isn't SEC, ACC Pac-12 or Big 10, it is still the same level.
I agree with you
Rjanyg : 3/18/2018 6:02 pm : link
1. QB - Darnold or Rosen
2. RB
3. Trade down and get Neslon

These are the 3 scenarios that are ideal.

Trade with Cleveland to 4 or Denver to 5 and no lower.

I also believe this is the order of highest probability.

If NYG trades to pick 4, I have a feeling that they may still add a QB in round 2 or 3. I am thinking Kyle Lauletta out of Richmond.

Wentz played Div 2, never should have been picked so high

They cannot afford to pick a QB in the 2nd or 3rd. They need OL or RB or CB there.

1 - QB or Barkley
2 - one of Smith, Hernandez, Wynn
3 - CB or safety
I just can t help believing
joeinpa : 3/18/2018 6:17 pm : link
That the reluctance to draft a quarterback isn t steeped in what what means for Eli going forward, for many against taking a quarterback.

It s obvious the NFL has a much higher regard for this quarterback class than bbi.

I ll repeat I think it s likely there is more than 1 quarterback the Giants will select at 2.

Last I checked, he dominated this league. Allen did not.

NDSU is FCS, which used to be D-1AA. It is not div 2, and how can anyone argue that Wentz shouldn’t have been drafted so high after the tremendous year he had? That is ludicrous.
IMO the Giants

are very fortunate to be picking at 2. We were close to 3,4,5 near the season's end. If I could better evaluate QBs I'd be inclined to shoot for your Eli replacement now.
One thing about Allen that just came out
Dave on the UWS : 3/18/2018 7:39 pm : link
is he never had a QB coach? That shocked me and gives credence to why his mechanics still need a lot of work. He's been working with coaching prepping for the combine and his mechanics looked pretty good there. He's a puzzle, how good can he become?
Allen is an Enigma
Bob in Vt : 3/18/2018 7:46 pm : link
With no QB coach, he played at a high level. With a year under a pro QB coach, how good could he become. And is it too much of a risk at #2.
They have to many options ....

If the QB turns out like Mark Sanchez or Ryan Leaf, you'll regret that for a decade.

And if you pass on the next great QB and he ends up winning championships with the Jets, you'll regret it for the rest of your f**king life!

Yeah, that surprised me. This guy has gotten this far basically on pure natural talent.

I'm being sarcastic relax Francis
Very well put

I would add taking ANYONE other than a QB or Barkley at #2 would make me unhappy. I still think trade down is the way to go. I would trade down to 12 BUT only if it was after trading down to 5 or higher. That would ensure a true bounty.
