...who the hell is Patterson?
p.s.--Given such a common last name, Cordarrelle Patterson just isn't significant enough to be referred to only by his last name. I'm not kidding when I say that my first thought was, "Is Mike Patterson still playing?"
Works for them.
His route tree won't, unless they buy his 1 trick.
Or just for kicks-----off.
This. I think he is just a special teams guy for them. NE loves guys that are great route runners. That is the exact opposite of what he is. I truly doubt he has any impact on offense unless he is running reverses or verticals to clear out the underneath zones.

making a ton of moves. Gruden changing the culture there and I bet it works out very well in 2018. They're coming.
No offense Sy, but how can you really use this as a basis to thunk that? He is a returner and a 4th WR......thats it! Id be shocked if Gruden gets more than a 5th for him.
And when was Gruden ever the miracle worker? He was great in Oakland, then in TB he had '02....other than that, he pretty much stunk on ice.
The Shaun King thing...failed. Chris Simms...failed. He just wasnt that good a coach after '02.

I am not only talking about the Patterson move.
Amerson/Smith/Crabtree/Ellis/Nelson....all guys that are pretty good players that will not be back in OAK. All guys that don't have great reputations in the locker room. From what I hear, Lynch might be next.
Not calling Gruden a miracle worker at all, but I do think he is going to push the needle in the right direction for this team.

They already have Phillip Dorsett for that role
He's been a pro-bowl special teamer (7 times), not returning, but as a gunner.
Patterson had been effective in that role I believe in MIN, not sure what he did in OAK.
