....in the 1966 NFL Draft?
Tom Mack, a Guard from the University of Michigan was selected by the Rams with the #2 overall pick. So, just how did that work out for them?
- Played 13 seasons (1966-1978)
- Never missed a game. 184 Consecutive Games Played (3rd most in Rams history behind Merlin Olsen and Jack Youngblood)
- 11x Pro Bowl (tied for all-time NFL lead with Bob Lilly and Ken Houston)
- 1st Team All Pro 4x
- 2nd Team All Pro 4x
- All NFC 8x
- Inducted into Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1999
- Rams had a .720 Winning Percentage during his career
- Rams won their Division Championship 8x during his career
- Rams made the NFC Championship Game 4x during his career
I think this is precisely the kind of player that is available to us this year with Quenton Nelson from Norte Dame. Dave Gettleman will get his Gold Jacket Hog Mollie!
That was over 50 years ago. You have been busy today.
Second Mack was drafted to play left tackle and did not make it
He was changed to a guard where he had his pro bowl seasons
There were no quaterbacks or running backs of any renown drafted in the first round
If I recall The Giants drafted Jerry Hildebrand in this draft
Very well done.
No one has ever traded up to 2 to take a guard.
And even if you count Mack as "drafting a Guard" that was 52 years ago!
What does that tell you?
Barron wasn’t the second pick, he was 19th
not worthy...

To be a bit clearer here...
Ogden was not a G. He was a T at UCLA and in the pros.
Leonard Davis was T in at UT, btw. He did switch to G in the NFL.
And to put the cherry on top, Emlen's might even have paused and still posted it.
Yes, he's that moronic.
😂😂😂😂

What a dumb fuckingpost. That two of these players were guards to FINISH their careers makes you supremely dumb. You dumb fucking dummy.
Go ahead, report me you dumb ass. See if I care.
