Luke Falk - a talented 3rd - 4th round qb from Washington St

Ira : 3/18/2018 8:44 pm
Falk's got good size and moves around well in the pocket, but he is not an athlete. He's hard to bring down, but was sacked a lot due to poor protection. His experience is in a spread offense, but is smart enough to pick up a pro system. He's pretty accurate and has a good arm. Over four years at college he completed over 68% of his passes and threw 119 td's to 39 int.

I'm not saying that we shouldn't go qb in the first round, but if we do trade down, he'd be a guy we can draft to compete with Webb.

mike white is intriguing. def someone id look at if we want to go mid round QB. that being said, DG would have to have SERIOUS conviction about him because we already have a mid round QB who has spent a year in an NFL program

Drafting a qb in the 3d completely undermines your decision to pass on a qb at 2. Youre either sold on DW and you fill the roster, or youre not and you take a qb at 2. Half measures like youre proposing will kill you on and off the field.
I thought I was going to like Falk before watch his games

On draftbreakdown. I didn’t bother finishing all his games. I saw enough and it wasn’t good.

Kyle Lauretta on the other hand surprised me in a positive way.
We have a 3rd round QB named Webb...

I'm not wasting 3rd rd pick in this draft on a QB when we have more pressing needs.
2 mid round QB’s do not equal a potential blue chip QB

Kanoff. Late round or UDFA. 73% completion rate in his senior year.

100% agree in Lauletta. His feet are excellent, his release is quick, keeps his eyes down field with pressure. Good size at 6'3" 220 lbs.
I watched a lot of Flak

this year. not impressed with him at all. He was awful towards the end of the season when games significance were enhanced. Also was awful on the road, just shows that when hes not in a familiar and comfortable environment he crumbles. Not the kind of guy i want on my team
I wasn't impressed with Lauletta. Throws a nice long ball
yatqb : 3/19/2018 12:22 am : link
but has to wind up to do it, and his intermediate throws don't have the velocity I'd prefer.

Not sure what his velocity was at the Combine, but in highlights it looked very poor.
Jets had 5 qbs on their roster last year

They have 5 ow and are going to draft another one.

They do if you mush them together into one QB.
Luke Falk is the Davis Webb of this draft

such as were they products of their collegiate systems, bad conferences for playing defense last season, etc.

Lauletta has apparently drawn attention from NYG.

Did the Redskins undermine their RG3 decision by taking Cousins in the 4th round of the same draft? Its better to have 2 QBs with decent talent fighting it out for 1 spot than one. Ensures the best player wins the spot.

Giants should either draft a QB at #2 or not at all.

Falk doesn't have a lot of mobility, and has been pummeled. More than 120 sacks in his career IIRC. 70% of his passes were also within 10 yards of the LOS. Decent are strength, but not elite.

I don't see the point in drafting him since we already have Webb, who has a stronger arm.

I agree, for me it's QB at 2 or not at all. They can't afford to spend another pick on a developmental QB a year after doing so.

I don't think Lauletta would be a good fit. He is similar to Case Keenum IMO but his lack of arm strength is obvious and he would be a poor fit for the winter months outdoor at Metlife stadium. If he is protected in a dome he would be far better off. I think too many people are looking for the next Garoppolo and they are wrongly assuming Lauletta is that guy.
