Like myself. I'm not seeing what there is to worry about here.
1. Barkley
2. Take QB
3. Trade back for more picks
All 3 of those I have no issues with. My least favorite is getting a new QB, which I admit I am not fond of any of them!
Is there any reasonable way the New York Giants could mess this up? I really dont think so. I get a headache putting all of these scenerios in my head so I just think number 2 is a high enough pick where we are in the golden money.
We will be in a healthy, sound, tip-top shape come September 2018!
I will be disappointed if they don't trade back if they take someone other than a QB or Barkley.
Oh, and I'll be happy when it's football season again too!
Not so much Josh Allen or Chubb.
would like to stay top 8 though Barkely, Chubb, Fitzpatrick, Nelson and the 4 QBs are the top shelf in this draft.
maybe if we trade to 12 we can trade back up to 8 and still have 2 firsts this year and next.
Since George Young the last time I was pissed was with Phil Simms??? Obviously I had lost my expertise in drafting.
I know we have made some questionable drafts since Simms but I usually trust in the GM and coach.
I would love Rosen Barkley trade down or Nelson.
Go Big Blue
Prefer Rosen but I just want to see talent.
YOUR reaction to the pick!

With that being said, I am hoping that the decision that is deemed to be best, is the trade back scenario.....
A single player does not a team make.......no matter how talented he is....the hype surrounding the value of a high pick is a product of the fanaticism that exists in today's NFL......key word....RELAX.
If Darnold is gone, I will be okay with Nelson or Chubb following a deal back to 5.
Anything else is puke.

no matter what or pissed off no matter what, I need to see the broader fan base reaction first and then decide which side I want to be on.
YOUR reaction to the pick!
seriously that was a joke. I do not know enough about the players to be pissed off or throe a remote, I no longer have the chance to watch a lot of college football since I coach my kid's hockey team and I'm not an expert anyway. I seriously trust whoever the FO picks to be the best option available.
the only time I ever was disappointed with a pick was Aaron Ross and it was only because he was 38 years old when the Giants drafted him. Nothing about his prospective talent.
The QB situation is confused...hard to read which of these guys (if any) will prove worthy of the #2 pick.
Barkley and Nelson feel like the 2 guys who are as close to can’t miss as they come
Trading down is dicey...unless someone blows us away. Don’t like the chatter about trading down to 12, that’s a big drop

I will be fine with either #1, #2, or #3.

I would agree with this but I've also warmed to the idea of Chubb at #2 given the importance of the position and the fact he would provide very solid and much needed leadership to that side of the field and seems to be a cornerstone type player. I like what I've seen and heard so far from the new regime and I especially like that DG is a pure "film" guy and has made his bones evaluating players so I trust there decisions going forward.
...but in this order:
1. Take QB (far and away #1)
2. Trade back for more picks
3. Barkley (a distant #3)
I can dream!
I will be disappointed if they don't trade back if they take someone other than a QB or Barkley.
Id be ok if they took Chubb.. I would be unhappy if they took Nelson..
I'm excited about this draft whether we grab a franchise QB, generational RB or trade down and grab Nelson.
Over the years, who won the BIG prize became more important than enjoying each game. It was no longer sufficient even to win the BIG 10 or the Big East, there had to be a NUMBER 1. (Prior to that, fans and sportswriters would have fun speculating on who would win mythical post season matchups.) The result was interesting games in some Leagues (e.g. the Ivy League) were considered unworthy of attention.
Maybe it was the vast amounts of money now involved (average NFL player in the 1960s made $ 60k. Moose Skowron had a corner sign shop in my town and Rizzuto and Berra opened a bowling alley to tide them over the winter.)
Maybe it was the impact of gambling (Ironic if so since Mara, Rooney et al were "gentlemen" bookmakers.)
So to answer the OP, I would be happy if the Giants fielded a competent, competitive, well coached team that had a good chance to win every Sunday. (2017's team did NOT meat that goal.)
So let Eli and Webb, or a new QB (if he can wear the Gold Jacket) lead the team that DG renovates with "players who want to play football". I'll be happy.
For me, if they stay at 2, I'd take a QB or the pass rusher, or Chubb. Not Barkley. I value Pass Rushers more than RBs, and this draft has lots of good RBs. If they take Barkley I'll be worried about . . .
That he's not really a between-the-tackles, 25 carries a game runner ala Gurley or Elliott. He's more like a larger Reggie Bush.
The lifespan of an NFL RB.
Being one knee injury away from it being over.
The curse of Penn State RBs.
#2 is the answer (but taking Chubb would be a reasonable consolation prize).
#3 could work, but not preferred. And not as dumb as #1.
In spite of the above, reading Gettlemans interviews I have a high level of trust in his judgement, and if he does something contrary to my thoughts, I will totally be on board
Would be disappointed if they take a guy at two they could trade down and get. That would be everyone except Barkley and maybe they could even get him at 5.
I will be disappointed if they don't trade back if they take someone other than a QB or Barkley.
I feel the exact same way, and wouldn't mind any of the QBs
You are correct, but the days of arbitrarily believing in the decision makers are over after Reese butchered 5+ years of drafting. It's OK to disagree with the decision.
Personally, I'm very much in the take a QB crowd, but will understand if we take Barkley or trade back. I'm upset with anything outside of those 3 options.
My preference right now is Barkley, simply because he'll be exciting and easy to root for (we could use more of those guys on the team right now). But I couldn't possibly be disappointed if we took Rosen, or if we traded down and still landed Chubb/Fitzpatrick/James/Nelson.
So I will be disappointed if they don't take one of them, hopefully they get the one they like best.
Other than that one caveat I'd be good with just about any scenario that's been bandied about.
