I have to admit while this board can be overly critical of beat guys etc., this comes off as nothing more than I am required to tweet something every hour. That couldn't possibly have been a more obvious statement..
I bet you could find more Giants news at the Tick Tock diner Â
The Jets trade puts them into an even better position. Every team wanting a QB know that the three out of the top four picks could be QB. It even causes the Browns to pause; if they were thinking Barkley at 1 and the QB they want at 4, they now know the QB they want could be gone by 4. The next month and a half is going to be interesting.
but, rather than repeating the platitude, I'd like to see a beat reporter take seriously the notion that the Jets' move actually cost NYG a lot of flexibility.
#5/#6 were the sweet spots for NYG to trade down and get a blue-chipper (in fact, very possibly get the non-QB they wanted anyway), plus a big premium of draft picks.
Now #6 is gone, and Broncos at #5 with Keenum are very possibly not desperate at all, and willing to wait to see what falls into their lap.
Sure, Bills want to, but down to #12 in this draft is very different.

To the extent the Broncos were/are going to make a deal, the Jets moving in front of them makes them more likely...not less. Presumably, there will now be three QBs off the board instead of two at pick 5...so if they want one of them, they will need to move up too.
My suspicion is that the Giants were not interested in the deal the Jets offered. I find it very hard to accept that the Jets wouldn't have put out some feelers to their co-tenant to see if they move up to 2. Why would any team just accept the third choice instead of the second without even inquiring on the cost difference (if any)?
Have you not learned that 99% of this place is full of people who would turn and run if they saw a football coming at them? There is very little understanding of this game and how the media works and it keeps getting worse. You being bashed by fuckwits is actually a good sign.
Got someone to post this as news on BBI. Mission accomplished.
Geez, it's called teasing a story. Apparently that is grounds for BBI insults these days. Tough crowd.
Thanks for stopping by. While you are here maybe we can learn a little instead of bashing someone for no reason with some insight into the organization.
Do you get the feeling that the information you are getting RE: the draft is more controlled from the top vs. leaked? From my perspective there seems to be a distinct disinformation campaign in regards to who the pick will be whereas in prior years I got the sense that beat writers were getting the actual opinions of those in the organization.
Appreciate any info you can on this, very interesting off-season!

You took what I posted as an insult? Come on man, you’ve usually got thicker skin than that. I’ve always been one of your fans on this site, just breaking balls

The point about the Broncos is that the Keenum acquisition itself may have taken the edge off their desperation. So what looked like a potential landing spot at #5 (before FA) may be gone. And now the Jets at #6 are gone.
Of course the Jets would have felt out the Giants. And the Giants evidently decided not to go for it. But that decision has consequences.
Why would anyone think signing him should impact the Broncos draft plans? If it does that organization is headed for trouble.
It's a tipping factor. The vibe is that Elway was not hot to give up the farm in the first place for the #2 spot. Broncos don't have the two seconds the Jets had, so they would have to strip their draft this year plus a first next year. There may be four QBs in this draft Denver likes, one way or the other.
Pinpointing the cause is less important than the bottom line that Giants may very well not get an offer from DEN as good as what NYJ gave up.
hahahahah
Its going to be really long and boring.

I hope he supports my theory that the sky is blue.
