Include Penn State and Florida State.

I wouldn't expect Barkley to do much athletically because he has nothing to gain, he destroyed the combine and can just interview.

Florida State is more interesting because you have a lot of talent there.

Obviously Derwin James should be in the mix in any trade down with Buffalo.

Derek Nnadi is a guy I love in the third round to play the big DE (Tomlinson's spot) and as a rotation NT on passing downs.

Matthew Thomas, rangey linebacker that has the tools but didn't put them together in school. Athletically he's off the charts.

An edge defender that could be a pass rushing option is Josh Sweat. 6'4" 251 lbs.

Jacob Pugh is another linebacker and I think he has a chance to be a good pro. NFL.com has him as a UDFA but I'd be very surprised if he wasn't drafted.

Auden Tate - a lot love his size. He's not very fast but he is a physical mismatch, similar to Kelvin Benjamin.
Is James a true FS

SS or a hybrid?
Some Penn State guys for the Giants to consider
allstarjim : 3/20/2018 10:58 am : link

Marcus Allen, S - more of an in the box guy so with Landon Collins doesn't make much sense as he is likely a 3rd or 4th rounder.

Troy Apke, S - another safety prospect from PSU who everyone noticed for his combine, but barely played at PSU. Probably a 6th or 7th rounder, maybe a UDFA. If he's a UDFA...then the Giants could bring him in, he is a guy that would be a fit at the free safety position.

Daesean Hamilton, WR - 6'1", 205 lbs receiver with 9 TDs last year. I don't think there's anything sexy about his game but he's a glue guy. 4th or 5th rounder.

Brandon Mahon, G - he's not one of the group of the guards we all like to talk about. If the Giants surprise and don't take a guard in the first 3 rounds, Mahon would be on the radar in the 4th or 5th.

Mike Gesicki, TE - I didn't mention Ryan Izzo in the FSU group because perhaps the last position the Giants need help at is TE. There really isn't room on the roster for a drafted TE unless you cut a good player, and then you have to get him on the field. Not happening, but really good player.

He can be either. You can put him at the FS spot, no problem...versatile, hybrid is fair to say.

I'll add one...

Christian Campbell, CB. 6'1" 194, 41" vertical 11'3" broad so far. A bit of a project but super physically talented outside corner prospect.
James can play FS, SS, CB, LB

He is a freak of nature, and if we ever traded back to the 12 spot and James was still there, I would run to the podium. He would instantly make this secondary a Top 5 unit.

James. The dc, Kelly, did not use him well at all. He would be an awesome compliment to Collins. Speed, tenacity, allows Collins to play his game
Good call on james

But TE: -of course- there's room in the roster for a great true block/pass TE if the player is as good or better than Ellison, so be it.

Take the next Whitten before Dallas or the Pat's grab him, (forcing us to deal for the next ten years). and use E.E. more at slot or 2nd TE or wideout.

Trade down? Players like giseki, Dallas goedert. James...etc. Some lbs. ...etc
Saeed Blacknall

Saeed is a 6-2-208 Penn State WR.He ran a 4.39 40-yard dash and had an exceptional Pro Day.Blacknall has great size, strength, and speed. There are NFL teams who think he could be drafted.
