I've had to work with Drupal on several projects at my job. "User friendly" is not how I'd describe it at all. That includes developers and site administrators. With enough sculpting, development, and modules you can make it do virtually anything, but the interface always felt clunky.
I do web design and mobile abb development for my company and I would not even bother with Drupal at all if you're looking for an easy platform like Wordpress.
If you don't have to use it I'd stay far away.
