Totally mystified
would have preferred he was on the team

If the Giants are going to a power running game

I think Flowers could well at RG. The team still needs a couple more quality OL-men

+1. I'm sure DG and Shumur watched the films and felt there are better options. Hopefully its not John Jerry, this team can't take another year with him starting.
LOL at the comment from the Skins fan
nyjuggernaut2 : 3/20/2018 5:16 pm : link
"Glad they took him from NY, he was their best OL last year. Praying they don't get Barkley!"

Bastards!
Gman11 : 3/20/2018 5:18 pm : link
Oh wait. Fluker? Oh, never mind.
Say this for Dave Gettleman...
M.S. : 3/20/2018 5:27 pm : link

...Justin Pugh, let 'em walk.

Weston Richburg, let 'em walk.

D.J Fluker, let 'em walk.

DG came in to change our fucked up O-line.

Let 'em all walk.
No big deal

RG will be addressed in this years draft. Braden Smith would be a great addition in the second round.
Fluker Did Well To Rebuild His Value
TheVette : 3/20/2018 5:30 pm : link
...but there is only so much the Giants appeared to be able to do with the cap $$$ on OL, given how they have to allocate over a number of needs.

He played decently - but did not play to the level of "must re-sign".
Saw an interesting comment from a beat writer to the effect
FranknWeezer : 3/20/2018 5:38 pm : link
that the NFC West is loading up on NYG OL:
Seahawks- Fluker
Niners- Richburg
Cardinals- Pugh

Look out for the Rams to pick up John Jerry once we release him.

Common thread has been determined for our failure:

All those guys were playing on the east coast when they should have been in a west coast offense.

It's a one-year deal for DJ Fluker in Seattle, his agent @DerykGilmore confirmed: "He's in the best shape of his life and really excited about this opportunity."

Jerry! Stay!

I actually think Jerry is a pretty good back up to have. I expect another interior lineman somewhere in rounds 2 or 3.
this was the one guy on the OL I'd hope we keep
bluepepper : 3/20/2018 7:49 pm : link
the running game definitely improved with him in there. He was something of a mauler which we needed. Also thought because he was a high draft pick labeled a bust that he could be a positive influence on Flowers. It ain't easy handling all that negativity. Fluker has kept at it and is probably on his way to a decent career.
Solari
jbeintherockies : 3/20/2018 8:18 pm : link
He is reunited with Mike Solari.

Solari actually got a job after these last two seasons?

is better than Flowers. That is not saying much but Id prefer fluker on the field notwithstanding salary implications.
Meh

Played hard for us last year and wish him well. Not someone you want to overpay.

Solari's been a very good line coach in the NFL for a number of years.

You cannot be serious? Just how in any, way, shape or form is DJ Fluker better than Flowers? He is heavier, but aside from that how is he better? He is an immobile guard.
I like the idea of a one year deal
Joey from GlenCove : 3/21/2018 7:15 am : link
That could have been good. Consistency to a degree can be good.

Wha??
He's a power
Joey in VA : 3/21/2018 8:49 am : link
OG, this team is going to a more zone based run blocking scheme, so the OGs have to be able to move laterally and be quicker than the two fatsos we used last year. This team has been plenty big up front, but too damn slow in recent seasons. Big heavy footed plodding OGs don't help a team with a terrible playbook and terrible RBs which we've had for about 5 years now.

Flowers is THE WORST LT in the league; he gets smacked around even for his supposed "strength" and "size" and will be shit at guard or RT. Plus, he is a locker room asshole. Fluker was more effective on the field and better in the locker room - his teammates actually like him. That is wha.
