Mayfield at 2

I think he’s going to be a good pro. His whole demeanor just screams “gamer” to me.

I don’t think the Giants would draft him in a million years though.

That is a winning strategy.

At qb you need to draft winners.


Mayfield is both a winner and has a winner’s mentality on the field.

I'm not even saying to screw the Jets. What if we like him and think he's the best QB.

He's accurate, he's mobile, he's a charismatic leader and has a good arm. He's not my first choice, but definitely not a remote thrower pick. If we go quarterback, there's him, Rosen and Darnold to choose from.

I can't help but see Manziel when I see Mayfield. I was rooting for Manziel, but he was an absolute failure in the league.

^This. Even without last season, we wouldn't draft him. Not a Giants type player. But especially after what happened last season, the worst in franchise history, with enough drama to last 10 years.

Mayfield is a gimmick. He has a better chance sharing a bed in a hotel room in France with Beckham and a model than being an NFL success...

No similarity whatsoever. This kid can play. I don’t know if he is I going to be better than Darnold Rosen or Allen but without a doubt he can play football and loves it. I have zero issue taking him at 2. I have zero issue taking any of the QBs at 2. Mayfield specifically is a true football player.

Manziel could play as well. 4000+ yds, 37 tds, and 69% completion percentage his last year. He was a baller in college, competitive, full of fire and other things lol.

Maybe it’s a Big 12 thing that brings about gaudy numbers due to the spread offenses. Heck Rudolph threw for 4900 yds, 37 tds at 65%.

And he’s not Manzel in any way. I’d probably take Darnold or Rosen over hin even as an OU fan but I’d love to still root for him as a Giant.

If a raw QB is drafted (Darnold/Allen), Eli starts for a MAX of a year. If the polished QB (Rosen) is selected, there is no good reason to start Eli at all - the guy is toast.
