Reportedly Pitt offered more but Pitt is a horrible job. Western PA has little to no talent. Eastern PA gets picked clean by Villanova, and big timers like Duke and Kentucky. They can't sell NY/NJ kids on playing in the Big East at the Garden and close to home anymore.

Pitt all of a sudden became a bad job 3 years ago?? Under Dixon they were perennially a 4-5 seed in the tournament, sometimes better. The move to the ACC hasnt gone well for them yet, but i dont know if that's coaching or what - its not like the Big East was a piece of cake.
Hurley should help but it is a stupid conference.
