Consider even Vita Vea as a potentially dominant 3/4 run defending end with an actual rush upside once we engage the single gap attacking scheme. If they double him Harrison will make them pay...or OV...will.
But, by all means, in addition to a quickness first step type end as well.
Couple of guys I mentioned in the pinned JPP thread were McIntosh and Green.
Sy, if somehow he were available, I mentioned Maurice Hurst. He has a pro day coming up and if he really impresses and the medical question is answered at least satisfactory, is that a consideration in round 2, and do you think he will even fall that far?
I also love Derek Nnadi and think he has the quickness and the size to play DE in the 3-4, and he can play all over that defensive front. At NT, only on passing downs.
Vea I think would be a NT only, but it's interesting to think of him as a 3-4 end. He's going to be a great player, I don't think it's going to be with us because of Snacks.

Hurst...all depends on how serious this heart condition is. I like him a lot as a penetrating DT...I'm not sure he is the best traditional 3-4 DE but Aaron Donald fits the role well with his own spin on it and Hurst has some of that movement ability in him.
I do think he is there in round 2 and I do think he is a possibility.

Thanks. Obviously the risk is there with the heart condition but if he didn't have that there's no way he'd be on the board in the 2nd round. Hopefully the docs say he can continue to play football with low risk.
He's participating in Michigan's pro day tomorrow. But I don't see how he's a first round pick anymore, the question to me is whether or not he's taken in the second.
I'm not alone. There are pundits listing 3/4 end as an option for Vea.
People tend to overlook due to 'too big' but he's an unusual athlete for a 340lber. To say the least.
Play him next to snacks and we become a pain to play against from snap 1.
You can always rotate in the first step type or an olb/de type on those long D and D downs. But even that. Not necessary with the right 'lbs'.
More likely Tomlinson would come out, go w the two bigs and a 3 true rushers, 4 S 3 C.
You know what...you are absolutely right. I think he is that special of an athlete and I sold him short only viewing him through the lens of a NT. In fact, I think his versatility to play both would make him more attractive to the Giants.
Gettleman is certainly willing to go DLine early in the draft. If the Giants were to trade down with the Bills for example, I think Payne would be very much in the mix

Snacks
Maybe a 12,a 22 likely.
Elijifor, Phillips are rated at value.

McIntosh had a terrific year. Excellent call...

He is perfect for a 3-4, and is a great edge rusher.

That's fine but the thread was about 3-4 DE's. Landry is a OLB in the 3-4. Same with Edmunds and probably Davenport.

His 2016 season was superb. It was too bad the ankle was such a set-back this year. I think he's got the Pats written all over him...

Nathan Shepherd will be the best of this bunch
Last nights thread I had him in my mock
In round 4 but he will go higher

Think of that next to Harrison both can beat double blocks, wreck lines, make plays ...

Da'Ron Payne seems like a Gettleman kind of guy.
