Especially if we get the haul that rumored to be offered by the Bills. With the trading of JPP, this team is now razor thin across the D-Line. We don't have a legitimate pass rusher outside of Vernon. By trading down and acquiring the Bills second 1st round pick and 2 additional second round picks we can shore add guys across both the D-Line and O-Line.
On the O-line we need quality starters at both guard spots, and someone to challenge Jones for the center position. Knowing Gettleman, he builds his teams around the lines, and this trade would give us the best opportunity to build these lines NOW.

But in a 3-4, your pass rush comes from the linebackers. The assumption here was OV and JPP would be the pass rushers. But then the Giants signed Kareem Martin to starter's money... we should have put two and two together right then and there.
1. QB
2. Barkley
3. Chubb
4. Trade back
Its still any ones guess which way the team will go, and the picture just got a bit fuzzier.
I'm glad that DG isn't tipping his hand - had enough of teams jumping the Giants for Conklin and Floyd, and instead ending up with Apple because Reese was a leaker.
Maybe Nelson? Or Barkley if Browns go X.
The Bills #12 or 22 gives us Vea..a better 3-4 DE.
I have tried reading Browns and Denver Boards for their asshats but I cannot last very long with their board formats. The show all function on BBI kills all the other forums. I cannot do the read 5 posts and click next for 50 pages.

Eric, do you believe Kareem Martin to be a starter a OLB? I think we can get a nice pass rusher at 12 or 22, plus shore up the O-Line with the additional second round picks.

I can't help but think outside of a new franchise QB given our limited depth that's the best potential to really reset the team for the next 4 years. Even if a quarter of those picks didn't pan out you'd be getting 5 good players.
This is how I feel. I really want a young cost effective QB of the future. But being able to trade back and fulfill multiple spots with quality players and making one last run with Eli is also intriguing. God I love the offseason. So many possibilities.
5th overall offers an IMPACT player plus an additional 2nd or 3rd along with their 1st next year.

I've been thinking all along the Browns would go QB at 1 and want Chubb at 4. All the talk of them wanting Barkley is a smokescreen. I see them wanting to pair up Garrett and Chubb and have their D Line core set for years.
I can definitely see them getting antsy now with the JPP trade in thinking the Giants are targeting Chubb, and come calling with some picks to move up to 2.
OV - above average player
Kareem Martin - starter's $ and clearly, Bettcher likes him (jury is out I suppose)
Josh Mauro - typical rotational, run defending 3/4 DE
Avery Moss - very good size/athlete (intriguing)
Maybe a 4th rounder on somebody like: Duke Ejiofor from Wake?
DT:
Snacks - borderline pro bowler
Tomlinson - very good rookie year
Thomas - solid backup NT type
Might not be as hard to replace him, as you might think....may not happen this year, could be next year, with a fill in for now....

Exactly. I think fans are getting caught up too much in the name. He is not nearly effective as he used to be. I don't think he makes a great 34 end or 34 OLB either. His size/skill is best fit for 43 end.
Marcus Davenport, UTSA
Josh Sweat, FSU
Lorenzo Carter, Georgia
and 34 DEs who can get after the passer like:
Taven Bryan, Florida
Rasheem Green, USC
Nathan Shepard, Fort Hayes St.
Andrew Brown, Virginia
For me that wouldn't be the case. I stay at 2 and take Rosen. Then I would get aggressive and move back into the 1st with 34 and 69. Targeting an EDGE like Landry or an OT like McGlinchey.
We're talking both their 2018 1st Rounders/2018 2nd/2019 1st/2019 2nd...and maybe even more. I just don't believe they'll actually offer that much and DG won't settle for less. Nor should he.

Rosen and McGlinchey in round 1 would be a coup

Sure it makes sense..

Agree 100%. Or Rosen and Guice.
How many two way DEs are out there?
I like to offer Hankins a one year $6M deal and add a body to the rotation.
Beats having Bromley in the rotation?
So glad to get rid of JPP’s contract!
Reese’s all in on Dee in 2016, not pursuing Whitworth last year really killed off re-signing Pugh...
I'm not sure you can say we are rebuilding. To me this looks more like a Reload. Of course the Giants aren't going to tip their hand for us.. I'm leaving it up to them. They are the professionals, they know more, not only about the game itself but about the players they have on their roster right now.

I've found Mile High Report posts/comments to be informative on the Broncos' situation. No one really knows what Elway will do but you can get a sense of the landscape from the linked post.
As far as fan sentiment, much less obsession with getting a QB than Bills' fans. Recent site poll had two out of three Denver fans not wanting to take a QB at all in the first round. Of the one third that do, many want to stay at #5 and see what shakes out, or only trade up to #4. Small (and vocal) minority do want to trade up to #2, usually for Rosen.
Rosen and Allen are seen as the possible Elway trade up targets; Mayfield someone he might wait for at #5 (or, at most, trade to #4).

Pick 34 is a pass rush hot spot in this draft. Key, Landry, Hubbard, Sweat. 2-3 of those guys could be available there.
