Anyone else block out parts of last year?

Eric from BBI : Admin : 3/22/2018 6:30 pm
I was watching highlights of Evan Engram and one of his plays was a TD catch against the Rams when we were down 48-10. I knew we lost that game badly but I had put out of my mind how one-sided it was.
All I remember

January 20, 2017.
Yeah

The 61 yd FG and loss to the Eagles being the first one. The WR injuries vs SD were the next and then honestly it's a blur the rest of the way.

I'm not sure it's so much of blocking the rest out as not even caring to remember much after the SD loss.

For me the gut wrenching losses in seasons past are the ones I block out. Eg, the Flipper Anderson game, the SF playoff loss on the bad snap/FG after blowing the big lead.
I blacked out

You DON'T want to know. Trust me.

Yep, there was a lot of drinking last season alright...

I watched all of the games but definitely don't remember chunks of some of them. I think it was just such an exhausting season that it was easier to just tune it out at time.

The team was so hard to watch in general.
The 2017 giants tore my meniscus

I firmly believe that.
I remember games from 1989 better than the last six years

Been a brutal period of football ranging from mediocre to total garbage.
I can't remember one play from the opening game in Dallas.

All I remember is Snacks rolling his eyes after a turnover.

Definitely.

And we've all seen some bad Giants teams. But for me, never one so unlikable.

The first two touchdowns they scored, one against the Lions in the second game, and then one the following week against the Eagles, were both flagged for excessive celebration. A team having trouble finding the end zone just can't keep it in their pants when they do.
This has to be a common factor amongst true Giants fans...

I've been a Giants fan all my life, but last year was the worst I've witnessed.

I watched the same Engram highlights video you saw and didn't recall about 75% of the great catches, despite watching every game.

If the team doesn't concentrate or give effort, I respond in-kind.
Are we limited

This is amazing to reread

I relocated from Scranton, PA, to Orlando in '83. Grew up watching Gifford et al in B&W. I watched LT in bars in the '80's with 30 ft dishes.

Last year was the 1st in 40, after the Geno mess, I blocked out even watching 2 games!

Time to rise again.
I don't think I ever consumed more beer

watching Giants football than I did in 2017.
No, of course not, the premise is absurd.

What kind of weak minded person would you have to be to have your brain curl up in the fetal position and refuse to accept reality?

Besides, if ever there was a good time to lose 13 games, it was during the one season in which the NFL inexplicably decided not to have a Super Bowl.
The ONLY thing that could have made things worse...
BamaBlue : 3/23/2018 10:05 am : link
would have been if Desean Jackson walked up to me and kicked me in the nards.
Didn’t watch or listen to the Raiders game...
trueblueinpw : 3/23/2018 4:20 pm : link
First time ever, more than four decades of not missing a broadcast or being at the Giants game. Didn’t want to watch a snap. Could not. Would not. Did not. Might be overly dramatic, but it’s true for me, I’ll never be a Giants fan in quite the same way. I still love the Giants but I don’t think they’re some kind of special organization anymore.
There was a game on IDK NFL network
Bluesbreaker : 3/23/2018 9:47 pm : link
or one that was on NBC so I went to a Bar and left by
halftime its been many years I din't care if I watched the
entire game I will never forget what McCrappy did to Eli
ever never ever ....
But yeah lets forget that nightmare and redeem ourselves
with a crazy run for the ages ....
