and if this is eli's last year and he is cut after '18, we're up to 73 million for 2019 free agency period. It will come down with extensions for beckham and collins, but man that JPP trade clears up a huge amount of cap space.
$50M in cap space for 2019 with a projected cap of $190M puts the Giants at 22nd most cap space for 2019, or in other words in the bottom third in terms of available space.
Even with $70M in space, they're are at least 10 teams with more space - considering none of them have gone through cuts themselves to create more room.
Of course it's so early it's almost silly to talk about 2019 cap room when the cap is still projected at this point, but if you do talk about it, context is important too.

Not just about raw cap space although Ellison and Stewart will probably be cut after ‘18 to add space. The bigger point is they have two guys the must re-sign — Collins and OBJ. That’s it. I’m sure a bunch of other teams with more money have more quality players they want to keep.
I don't think either will be a financial decision or problem with JPP's salary gone next year.
They'll be more based on talent and production IMO. If they both play the way they have so far in their careers they'll get their money and wont really cripple the team cap wise.
Yes.
Eli Manning
Olivier Vernon
Ereck Flowers
