Was on around 7:35 talking trade of JPP, #2 pick etc... In short, said that he has contacts inside the org. and that the only QB the Giants want is Sam Darnold.
Also said he feels that the Giants will likely trade out of the #2 spot, most likely down, but don't rule out trading up. lol.
If Giants let it out that they like Darnold or <the player Cleveland covets at 4> Cleveland can ensure this by 1) taking Allen or 2) dealing back from 1 to 2.
Giants are hoping for 1 (Cleveland takes Allen) and are trying to help that one by letting on who they like. But do not rule out Giants at least considering trading up (offering their 2nd round, and the extra 3 from JPP trade will help to ease this) to make certain. I know this is unpopular, but if your QB is there and you have enough conviction in him, a 2nd round is not really that much.
Disagree. Last year the Bears swapped #1's, plus 2017 #2 & #4 plus 2018 #3 to move from 3 to 2. Perhaps the Giants would have to offer a 2019 #2 and one of the 2018 #3's, but certainly not 2019 #1.
Other teams are willing to trade a lot more to have the opportunity to draft one of a few guys. I'm not saying they have the type of conviction, but if they did they should pull the trigger. Once of my biggest issues with Reese was that he always sat back and waited and selected a guy from whoever the draft handed him. And it has cost them. This is not a shot they expect to get a second chance at any time soon. So if you are that close to a guy you really like, you pull the trigger and don't look back.
It would be a "risk" not to take QB Rosen as he is polished and could learn under Eli. If the Giants were "out of playoff contention" with say 3 games to go, and you felt Rosen was ready, you let him START the last few games so you know what you have and he's better prepared to handle the STARTING job in 2019.
If the Jets are high on Rosen, they could try and trade with the Giants but my feeling is they don't have much ammunition to trade right now. ???
This is way too important for this franchise, and sharing thoughts on prospects with media folks or former players seems like it should be a fireable offense. What's to gain by it...unless it is intentionally misleading.
Darnold, Chubb, Barkley, Rosen have been names floated for weeks now. Why?
He has no idea what the scouting folks like.

Chris is onto something. Been saying for months Darnold is the only QB theyd take unless Gettleman disregards his scouts (which I guess is possible).
He clearly no understanding how this process works..

Darnold or Barkley.
I'm not a professional scout but I've watched as much "tape" as I can on barkley.
Simply typing in Saquon Barkley Vs in youtube brings up a lot of videos showing every carry/touch in an individual game. I see a running back who despite having the size and measurable strength to do it go down easy when met at the line of scrimmage. Just not seeing the push the pile plays.
Now, perhaps because of his superior talent this was something he didnt have to do but I see a bigger Reggie Bush when watching these videos. Am I wrong?
No, you are not wrong.
