I think there was a line in Rounders..."You don't remember your wins, just your bad beats.." or something like that.
I was playing at the Flamingo a few months ago 1/2 no limit hold'em and was dealt K/10 suited. Raised and got a good pot going. I had about $150 in chips at that point. Guy next to me reraises, I call. Flop comes out K/K/10. Cha-ching! I put out a sizeable bet, everyone folds except guy next to me raises. I go all in (he has about $200). He calls and shows 8/8. Sure as shit, next 2 cards are 8 then 8... game over.
Anyone have any awful beats to share?
Playing in the Borgata Spring Open last year and we're down to the final 14 in their $360 buy-in event.
I'm mid stack and look down at 4-5 clubs on the button. Action folds to me so I raise 2.5x. Get called by the big Blind who has me covered.
Flop comes 6-7-8 clubs. I bet, get raised, and I push all in. He calls I show the straight flush. He shows J-K clubs. Sure enough, the board runs out 9-10 clubs!
Never saw a straight flush on a board before or since.
Made it to the final table and was one of four left. Won’t go into all the details, but I ended up losing with 4 Jack’s to 4 Queens.
Looking back, I wouldn’t of played it any differently than I did, but I would have been one of two people left.
Easily the baddest beat I’ve ever had.
I'm in the SB with small/middle size stack and there's a terrible big stack player in the cutoff who is continually open raise and folding. I also havnt seen the BB (a middle size stack who has me slightly covered) play a hand yet in 3 orbits. He makes his usual raise when it's folded to him on the cutoff, I shove allin in the cutoff with 79s and BB insta calls and cutoff insta folds. BB of course has fucking AA. Flop comes 779, turn 9, river A.
Worst 30 seconds experience I've ever had playing poker.

Yea, bad writing on my part here. It was folded to the cutoff (the guy who kept raising/folding), and he did his normal raise. I shoved all-in from the SB, not the cutoff.
2/5 or bust for me.

I have yet to see a str8 flush, never mind 2 on the same table... That blows,,,,

This!
I will never play 1/2. If a player doesn't raise you have 6-8 players seeing the flop. BINGO! Plus I have no self control at 1/2. Never got dealt a hand I wouldn't play for $2.
That was 3 weeks ago. Very next week, I have pocket 10s. Flop comes out 10-Q-Q. I'm heads up in late position and guy checks to me. I go all in, he calls, turns over a JJ. Jack hits on the river.
It's poker and stuff like that just drives you crazy.
Played the other night and just couldn't catch cards and was getting blinded. I go all in with A-Q suited. Fucking dude calls me with 7-2. Hits a deuce and it holds up. Earlier had 8-7 off, I throw it away, flop comes out 8-7-7. You remember those, too. That same guy with the 7-2 had pocket K's and bet all the way and didn't hit the K. I would've cleaned up on him. Poker sucks but I can't stop playing.

the Pokerstars Sunday Million tourney back during the poker boom. First place was $250,000ish and I was guaranteed something like $7K just for getting down to the last 14.

More bad luck that the dude behind you woke up with AA than bad beat.
