We will use this as a discussion thread to keep the SELECTIONS thread uncluttered. These threads will be used for the duration of the entire draft.
Once a team is on the clock, they will have two hours to make a selection. If a team goes on the clock after 4pm, their two hour window will roll over to the next day. For example, if you go on the clock at 4:30pm, you will have until 9:30 am to make a selection. Picks may be made between 6pm and 9am if GMs are online and following the draft thread. The time limit only applies during the 9am to 6pm timeframe. If the two hour time limit expires, I will make a pick using any list that the GM for the team has sent me in advance (send lists to the email address in my profile) or in the absence of a list, I will use the GBN Big Board with a little discretion so as not make an obvious dumb pick (i.e.: Philadelphia Eagles won’t be taking a QB in the 1st round this year). If a GM misses two consecutive picks without providing a prospect list or making some form of contact with me (email or posting on the draft thread) the spot will be reassigned to one of the BBIers who have expressed an interest to fill the vacancy.
Please utilize the
BBI Mock Draft Spreadsheet . The spreadsheet contains the draft order (RD1-6) by team and GM with a fairly comprehensive list of both available and taken prospects based on the GBN Big Board (as well as several other prospects that did not make the GBN Big Board). I will try to keep the spreadsheet and thread updated as often as possible.
I don't see it at all with Winston, and he's a guy I liked coming out of FSU. If I'm Tampa's GM by now I've made the choice of whether or not I'm interested in paying Winston that big second contract. I would not be, and thus I'd look to trade him and pick a replacement in this draft. At least I'm keeping the QB position at the rookie wage scale, and I'm probably not losing much from what I have now. Conversely, if Allen pans out it would be a huge upgrade...I'd be better at QB, have a better long term cap picture, and have whatever I got back for Winston in trade.
That Winston was a first rounder three years ago shouldn't matter. That's a sunk cost that, I would think, wouldn't inform future decision making.
The Bucs have Jameis Winston, why would they waste a pick on Allen. They already have a young starting QB. Bad choice.
Skins really need several positions, those two linebackers that went just ahead of us would have really helped, but Davenport has enormous talent, so we're glad to have him
Chubb has had a better college career and is a great prospect, but I really think Davenport has a better frame, and could end up the better pro.
I'm not sore. Because Jaire Alexander is a pretty nice consolation prize. And fits a need too, so I have that going for me. Which is nice. I realize picking Alexander is a big risk considering his injury history, but I feel he has top ten potential when healthy. If he meets that potential, the Cheeseheads are going to be very happy.
I was awake until my time, then ?I just couldn't stay awake anymore.

Unfortunately with the number of picks made subsequently and the real possibility that at least one would have taken Ward I believe it is

I'm 8 hours away from you guys. I wanted Vita Vea, the DT out of Washington. Is it too late?

I understand. For the record, my email address is marwan_ali77@yahoo.com
Didn't want to reach for an offensive tackle.
Yeah, I was hoping he would drop to me at 20 at this point. Can't believe he lasted that long.
I know Vea would have been Miami's selection had he not been auto-selected due to missing 2 hour window. He was one of the five on my list from which I chose Landry. Considering Arizona went for Payne, Vea was probably on DC's list as well.
SEA beat you to it! Not surprised to see Connor Williams go at this point as, after Nelson, there are a number of OL who carry late Round 1 grades. The exact order they go in real life will depend on how they fit individual schemes IMHO
If not you put Ridley on opposite side of Dez replacing Williams. More weapons on offense.
Defense will be addressed in next several rounds.

Ridley was #2 on my list (Vea was #3). Baltimore has a lot of ties to Alabama and definitely has a need at WR even after FA signings, but I guess I let Sy talk me out of it by showing that there was enough depth at the position that I could try to fill a different need where there was less depth first

I'm already over it. Good pick, YAJ. <sigh>
Have one guy in mind in particular. Hope he falls!
I agree... McGlinchey is getting over shadowed by Nelson, but he is a really good LT. I think he is definitely the best in this draft and think he will be solid for years.
Personally not a fan of McGlinchey. Too many times against better opponents he reminded me of Ereck Flowers. As I posted earlier, we are seeing the run of OL that I anticipated in the latter part of Round 1
FMiC if we get through pick 23 before 4 PM your time will expire before 6 PM so you might want to e-mail a list if you have to leave

I think McGlinchey is going in the top 15 on draft day. That's a steal.

You can have doubts about McGlinchy, but he should not in anyway remind you of Ereck Flowers. Completely different player.

McGlinchey is a great pick.
