Please. It’s not the same.
And where will Trotz will be coaching??
But fuck the rest of the Capitals

I will never forgive Dale Hunter. (I honestly don’t care that much, have a lot of friends who root for different teams.)
DC outside of the Capital One Arena is a sea of red.
Congrats RobCarpenter! Enjoy it, my friend.

Congrats sir. You've put in your time. Enjoy this

You too!!!
Still can’t believe they did it.

Lol yeah some jerk-offs on BBI actually became "happy" for the Eagles.
I would link it, but probably easier to google search yourself if interested.
the emotions after winning the cup are why i watch (other than the fact hockey is the best sport to watch on TV). ABC said it best when I was a kid, the thrill of victory, the agony of defeat. It's all in display.
Congrats RobCarpenter! Enjoy it, my friend.
Almost.
I get the rolling 4 lines out there with max effort (commendable) and solid D and a good goalie, but that's not a SCF recipe IMO.
I'm going to make an ass out of myself even further and say they won't sniff this success again in the near future.
here is the top 31 from Simon Boisvert (ex-QMJHL scout) current hockey analyst. I don't agree with some (Hughes and Tkachuk especially), but he gets paid to do this.
2nd, even though this didn't end the way I was hoping--which was for the Finals to go 7, irrespective of who won--it was such a treat last night watching the game's celebratory aftermath and Doc Emrick's flowing, tradition-sensitive commentary. And, gosh, he knows the names of the Caps' trainers when they hoisted the cup. Emrick is so versed in the sport, its people, its history, he reveres them and that reverence and his ability to articulate the game as it's being played, matchless.
Having grown up a Brooklyn Dodgers' fan from the mid-50s on (until the transplant wore off), I put Doc right up there with Vince Scully as just HOF best in his sport.
Might as well put my congrats to Tony in here! Well-deserved, brother - you suffered through a lot of heartbreak. Probably feels incredible. Hoping I can get one from the Rangers in my adult life here.
Enjoy it!
Still hope Hank can have this moment before it's all said and done.
It's so depressing every year realizing the chances of that are getting smaller and smaller.
Ovechkin, on the other hand, he was a back-checking demon last night.
He should agree to a trade, but for whatever reason he doesn't want to.
In any event, all I'm really saying is that whether it's Hank back there or someone else. we have to fix the blue line. It has become a gigantic issue and is in even worse shape now that Mac is gone (although I think we traded him at the ideal time)
I thought the 2012-2014 defenses were very good, but Lundqvist was still the one carrying them. I don't think the 2014 D group was a top three unit, for example. Certainly not like what NAS has now.
I don't think the Rangers have a shot at being anywhere close to good next year. The defense is really, really bad. Skjei took a step-back last year. Shattenkirk might be the best D on the roster right now - and I like him and think he could fill a top pair role with the right guy - but that's terrible.
And up-front, they lost Nash/Grabner/Miller - three top six caliber guys.
I think this is a 3-4 year process. It's unlikely Lundqvist will be able to carry a team then.
I thought DeAngelo, Gilmour, and Pionk looked good - but then I realized they were still still giving up fifty shots a game.
I agree. I am happy they did go all-in on one direction, though.
But agree that NYR has a ton of work to do. Stockpile assets, let the kids play, and make a run at Karlsson next offseason.
This should be a long term 2-3 year rebuild, but the Rangers never go that route because god forbid Lil' Jimmy doesn't get his postseason ticket sales.

Fair, but he did put up top 6 production while with NYR.
Biggest driver of a turnaround is going to be how lucky they get with the lottery. Everything else is sort of secondary.

Fo rme, it's worse.
This is worse than 2004 when I lived in Boston.
Congrats to you and Tony, but aside from you two, this is the worst sports moment ever...I probably would have traded my championships to avoid having this day happen.
Makes me wish I never followed sports.
Thank god I moved to NYC when I did.
I think we're hopefully moving in a better direction now.
I goes without saying, but this draft is going to be massively important for the future of this franchise. This offseason in general, really.
I agree - bottom pair guy, ideally, but I think he can and should have a place on next season's team.
It has ruined the NHL for me for a long while.
Fortunately I'm in NYC.
Wow. But expected.
Wow. But expected.
For the Caps?
Yes.
Definitely at least 1 if not more.

That's insane. I would never ever give up any Giants SB wins, period.
