Bill Wanger of FOX Sports says alternate uniforms on Thursday Night Football are going away. Hardcore fans don’t need gimmicks to watch. The game schedule will also be stronger. #NABShow
figure out fans are not buying those hideous jerseys. Teams probably lost money producing them to sell - the only reason for Color Rush is a revenue stream.
Now if the just rid themselves of Thursday Night Football.

Giants color rush jerseys were hard to find and sold out quickly
why won't the networks and the NFL add a 2nd bye week for every team and have the Thursday games scheduled around bye weeks? It adds more "inventory" for the TV networks and saves wear and tear on the players and gives the games a better chance of being well played and entertaining. What is the down side we don't know about that's preventing such a simple solution?

On color rush, the uniforms aren't going away completely. It's just that they might not be exclusive to Thursday nights anymore, sources say. Could be some other tweaks to the uniform policy as well. Also, this is subject to votes from ownership.

I couldn't agree more. As a bonus, you can stretch the season so that the Super Bowl takes place on Presidents Day weekend, giving everyone Monday off to recuperate after the Super Bowl. I also don't see the downside.

Not exclusive to Thursday? This makes it sound like we will get MORE color rush. Which actually is more in line with how the NFL rolls. Hardcore fans don't like it - they double down. Just like I expect we are more likely to see Wednesday night football or Tuesday afternoon football then get rid of Thursday night.
So they could probably not just throw out the concept without pissing off a booster. It makes more sense that they just keep it going as a promotion and allow teams to use the color rush unis as their alternate uniforms. Teams can still wear alternates twice a year if they want.

Only thing I can think of is players don't want to lose a week of the offseason
Or the league wants to do it in conjunction with Â

Didn't the Giants wear their color rush on a Sunday game vs. Dallas?
I'm 50.. I like the Thursday games as it gives me another game to enjoy...
It's not like the teams that are playing don't want to win. Many fans, ( and I am not saying fans on this thread so much) have been saying for a year or two now that this game is a diminished or even bad product because of the short rest. I do agree to those who say it probably could be scheduled better as to give teams more equal rest and time to prepare......that seems to be possible to me.
I enjoy the Thursdays, fuck it,,
It's football...not a brand,,or a product..IT"S SPORT!
NFL teams don't tank IMO so enjoy. There were some good games last year on thurs..
NO!. But I'm still glad they are dropping those horrid uniforms.
The way the Thursday games are currently schedules causes a competitive disadvantage for one team or the other, not just for that game but for subsequent games. Two teams can be playing - one coming off a Thursday game and having 10 days rest and the other off a Monday game with 6 days rest. And the Thursday games themselves are a joke.
Either schedule them where both teams are coming off of a bye or get rid of them.
