Wayne Gallman?

armstead98 : 4/11/2018 2:19 pm
I thought he looked really good down the stretch. He was elusive and decisive. He averaged 4.5 ypc in his last 5 games when he starting getting significant playing time.

What's his ceiling? Is he capable of being a quality starter, pro bowler even, or is he just a JAG?

This is not a thread about how not to draft Barkley, just wondering what we have here.

Hard to tell

He ran very well late in the season, but so did Perkins at the end of 2016. Then 2017 came and Perkins turned into Ron Dayne.
He seems like

a good change of pace guy but his frame doesnt seem like one that will hold up as an every down back
Should be an interesting camp battle between Gallman and Perkins.

I think they can both play, and if they can both build off of their previous success - we've actually got a pretty good rotation with Stewart.

I think he runs a lot like Rashad Jennings, although he's lighter. I always felt like Jennings' pad level was a little high, and I feel the same way about Gallman.
I think he is a good back-up

and decent change of pace back, but I don't see him as a featured back. I don't foresee any DCs losing sleep over having to face Gallman
If Dave Brown is the symbol for Giants Quarterback Hell...

then Perkins and Gallman are the symbols for Giants Running Back Hell. The Giants simply must get a big upgrade to the position in the 2018 draft...
A good

I like Gallman

Barkley, Gallman and Perkins would be a really good stable of RBs. All have really good hands and can catch it out of the backfield. Barkley and Gallman both have some power and elusiveness, I love the thought of what the three of those guys can do in a real NFL offense.
I liked Gallman

He has some good upside. Perkins?.... He showed up incredibly Slow and Sluggish--Out of shape or shot body at a young age

George Young agrees with you. Draft BIG MEN to control the line first.
I didn't want Gallman before the draft but . . . .

was surprisingly pleased with his rookie performance. He's got a decent level of talent and a nice compliment of skills. He's surprisingly strong for his build, though he's not a short yardage specialist as some tried to make him out.

I like using multiple RB's with different strengths in different situations. But I have every hope that with better blocking Gallman can be a very productive part of NY's offense.
He can be a s0lid back

D0nt kn0w if he is an every down back, but if he can hold up between the tackles, he could be a serviceable back. Could be a p00r man's feature back, 0r a g00d back t0 have if y0ur #1 goes down.
Paul Perkins looked good at end of 2016

Look how well that worked out.
Gallman is fine
UConn4523 : 4/12/2018 9:04 am : link
but he shouldn't prevent us from wanting to upgrade at RB.
