Nate Solder wrote an article for the Player's Tribune about his son's cancer, what the Patriots did to help his family, and why he chose to sign with the Giants. Player's Tribune - ( New Window )
I knew a bit about this story and was surprised he left NE because there seemed to be a good infrastructure in place for Solder's son's treatment.
And f-ck cancer. And f-ck it even more when it attacks the most innocent - children.
This is why I like the Player's Tribune. It's a great platform to hear directly from a player versus the lens of the media. It's nice to have a good soul on the team like Solder...
I hope he and his family beat this vicious disease.
RE: RE: Very powerful read...great to have him as a Giant...
That was a tough but worthy read. Kudos to Nate and the Patriots family for doing it the right way. Rivalry means nothing, family is everything, well done New England.
Posters like DaddyM who needlessly trashed him because he's "overpaid" are just lost souls.

If only we could live in a world where nothing bad could ever happen to babies and children.
