Cowboys expected to release WR Dev Bryant today, barring an unexpected last-minute change of heart, per @toddarcher and me. But the plan going into meeting that is now underway was to part ways with Bryant.
Err...
He's not nearly the player he was, but he's still a good #2 option. Not saying we should sign him.
But I'm not saying we shouldn't either lol
He's not someone Gettleman would want, honestly. But he's a better #2 than Marshall probably is.
Is that true?
Is he really using himself as a source?
He is insufferable.

Was about to post the same thing. Its like no one can break any NFL news unless he puts his stamp of approval on it.
It goes back further than that. Ike Hilliard too. And even Amani Toomer - if I remember correctly - had an injury that robbed him of his speed, though it obviously wasn't career-ending.
Mike Sherrard?

I mean he'll definitely land somewhere. He can still play - but he's no longer a #1. There's a huge, huge difference between the player he was in 2014 and who he is now. He's very clearly lost a step.

Yeah I thought this too - he's such a fucking douche.
He's barely a #2 WR and that was with Bryant, Witten, and Elliott drawing attention. With Bryant gone and Witten aging, Williams will be further exposed.
I have a lot more confidence in a guy like Beckham coming back than I would Dez. BEckham is arguably the best route running WR in the game...he doesn't just get by on hops and speed.
Let Dez go round out his routes elsewhere. Dallas was smart to cut him. They don't make as many bad moves anymore which sucks.
Disagree. Dez is the kind of washed up player Belichick would've gotten rid of 2 years ago, imo.
Did the Raiders sign him yet?
That said, I could see Dez getting a long look from San Fran...
LOL, I can't even type that with a straight face, it would be funny though.
The Cowboys had nobody who could get deep last season . Williams and Bryant both lost their speed. Prescott got a bad rap for checking down. He was looking downfield ; simply wasnt anyone getting open.
Get on the phone Dave.

Nonsense. He doesn't turn 30 until November, played all 16 games last season, caught 69 passes and 6 td's. He's got more shelf life left than Marshall, and we are pining over losing stiffs.
Get on the phone Dave.
Nonsense?
Look what types of seasons he was having before that injury and look at what he's doing now.
Just in case you need a reminder..

Nonsense my fucking ass
Watch him sign a reasonable deal to stay in the division. NOT with us
Except this year, he caught about 20 less passes, had about 500 less receiving yards and scored TEN fewer TD's.
He's not the same player he was. All you need to do is watch him play. He's lost a step. It's not nonsense. He had a serious foot injury.
Of course he did. He was a top wideout for a while. Was he the "baby TO" that he was labelled coming out? No. But you can't sneeze at 4800 yards and 50 TD's in 4 years. The injuries are unfortunate, but prior to that - he was very productive.
WAS.

Dez walked out saying I'll see guys twice this year, I'm told. So that's that.
So I guess that narrows it down to three teams...

He hasn't had a qb since Romo's last season- You know when that was? 2015. Manning would give his left nut to have Bryant as a target on the other side of Beckham.
Total fucking nonsense that he is washed up, and it's not close.
Those two together would be a dumpster fire...

I agree that on the field he's better than Marshall, but Gettleman is not going to bring him here. They are very clearly trying to create a more cohesive environment and Bryant isn't exactly known as a great teammate.
Would I sign a player *like* Dez now? Sure. Would I sign Dez? No.

Like I said. Redskins.
Also, regarding the Pats. ONe guy said he's a perfect candidate for Bill, another said he's exactly the kind of guy they stay away from. Actually, he's the kind of guy Bill goes after only if he can get him for next to nothing. I don't think that's dez though, someone will pay him. Bill loves washed up players that other teams give up on because he gets them for pennies on the dollar.

The Giants need Dez, Odell, Shepard, Engram and Saquon and then their offense can be functional.

2014 was Romo's last season. He played 4 games in 15 and 1 in 16. 2104 was Bryants last 1000 yard season. It's not a coincidence.
