Adding a patio to my yard and removing a deck. Have an existing gas line and going to dispose of an old grill that was from the last owner.
Any recommendations on good natural gas BBQ. Should I just splurge on the Weber options (spirit or genesis) or have the been supplanted.
Currently I only grill a dozen times or so a year, but would more with a gas grill than dealing with the coal grill.
My advice, and I know you said there is an existing one.
1. Make sure there is a turn off for the gas at the point where the grill is.
2. Make sure the pipe the plumber installs is good quality (I had squirrels eat through mine)
3. I had a quick connect at one point, I prefer that so you can move the grill, either for storage or horrible weather that you feel warrants moving things off the patio
and just know that is where your grill will be forever. I am kindof regretting where I decided to put mine at this place, but the fact I never need to worry about running out of propane balances that out.
I have having the deck removed and hiring a plumber to extend the gas line out away from the home.
Definitely need to decide where I am going to put the grill and use something simple to connect.
Going to check out the costco options.
Even if you only grill out once in a while the Weber will last you 20 years.
I have the Genesis series and love it.
Is the summit worth the upgrade over the gennesis?
Side note, I don't love the redesign of the genesis line. One of the reason I'm looking to buy used.
I have 4 propane tanks when I run three empty I go fill them all at once so I never have to worry about running out.
If you convert a Weber from LP to NG it voids the warranty.
You said you'll have a plumber run the line make sure he gets a permit codes have changed.
Don't cover your Weber grill. It will trap moisture and rot it out quicker. Keep it clean and it will last forever. 10 year warranty on the igniters no worries.
