Offensive Linemen Big Board

giantstock : 4/15/2018 6:53 pm
Assume Giants aren't taking Nelson or Mcglinchey in the draft - and the G-Men have weaknesses across the board at the O-Line-- what would be your Big Board order of the following players? And do you think any of the below will reach the 4th round? Assume that the Giants are drafting an OLine in rd 2 or rd 3. And probably more than one.

Here's my order - it is also based on needs of the Giants. I have Wynn and Smith 1/2 because of concern for both T and G. While I do feel a versatile c / g is important too more than just a guard. Can't say 100% Jones is a lock for the future. As a result versatility knocked Hernandez back. If we're certain of Jones for future years and we can sign him then Hernandez moves up. OFC only the Giants know about that.

1-- Wynn

2--- Smith

3--- Daniels-

4-- Ragnow

5-- Price

6-- Hernandez

6--- Crosby

7-- Rankins

8-- Miller
I'm a Hernandez guy

Also like Crosby. I also think Jamarco Jones is a possible target for OT
Mason Cole in round 4
Rjanyg : 4/15/2018 7:11 pm : link
I think 2 OL could be added in the draft
Hernandez
Archer : 4/15/2018 7:13 pm : link
Hernandez , Smith, Price, Wynn,
I hope price drops to 3rd round due to his bicep injury
George from PA : 4/15/2018 7:17 pm : link
Hernandez might not even make it to our 2nd
Conner Williams from Texas may go before all the guys you mention
PatersonPlank : 4/15/2018 7:19 pm : link
He should be near the top of your list
Also Tyrell Crosby , Tackle from Oregon should be a the top too
PatersonPlank : 4/15/2018 7:21 pm : link
.
I think if Price is there in the 2nd they take him
Eric on Li : 4/15/2018 7:49 pm : link
everything about him seems tailor made for what they are looking for - toughness, power, smarts, versatility - and on top of that Schurmur drafted his linemate last year as a key cog in turning around the MIN OL. At G I could see them having Hernandez about him from a pure power perspective, and it's possible they value 1 of the T's more like Crosby, but if I was guessing based on who I think they will like and who will most likely be there, I'd pick Price.

Damn-- I forgot Williams. Though I'm not very high on him. I'd put him ahead of Miller.

Any of the other guys I've mentioned do you see slipping to rd 4?
Frank Ragnow

would be a great addition to the line. Consistent performer and shows leadership qualities. Maybe more of a high floor then a high ceiling prospect, but I think we need more of these types of guys on the line going forward. Let's start with guys who have shown they can perform consistently, as opposed to the more 'freak athlete' prospects who we hope can be developed..

Can play guard as well as center, no sacks allowed in 41 straight games as a Razorback. Would be thrilled if we grabbed him at the top of the second round.
SHURMUR was the Vikings OC. I doubt he had much influence on who was
Ivan15 : 4/15/2018 7:59 pm : link
drafted.
I’m of the belief that
LauderdaleMatty : 4/15/2018 8:03 pm : link
Interior guys who can project to play early will start to move off the board around lick 20. Guys are getting insane money now at what used to be a position you could wait on.

Now for smart teams without huge needs can grab a kid like Price and most likely plug him in as a Starter from game 1. With the shitty OL play from all over the league I expect to see a few of the guys people who think will be there in Rd 2 gone. Price and Hernandez could Be gone. Especially to a team like NE w multiple first round picks

That doesn't matter - Shumur had the experience coaching him. Who drafted him is irrelevant. Shurmur will have input in who gets drafted, especially on the OL and he had a very positive recent experience with a very similar player who was developed in the same system. A system that has developed a lot of other good OL recently. Including the OL they had at the top of their FA board.

No idea but the odds say someone probably will. My guess is they take an interior OL at #34 because those guys are usually more plug and play but it's hard to predict. More than the rest I think Price and Hernandez fit what Gettleman is looking for.

I'm hopeful one will slip at least to our last pick of the 3rd rd.

As for playing inside I think everyone of them other than Miller and Crosby can play inside well enough. Though I'm also skeptical of Williams playing inside too.

Would really love it if Giants can pick up tow of these guys while securing a QB along with a DT that can play in the 3-4.
I want two
TommyWiseau : 4/15/2018 8:35 pm : link
of these guys, BPA on the Oline in round 2 and one with either of our round 3 picks. Could really transform this Oline with two solid draft choices here.
I'm thinking that if the Giants decide to cut bait on Flowers
PatersonPlank : 4/15/2018 8:45 pm : link
then they will go more towards the best Tackle available, and let him battle it out with Wheeler for RT. At the beginning of the 2nd that could be Williams, Molton, or Crosby. If Flowers stays than I bet they go Guard.
I like both Connor Williams and Isaiah Wynn...
Milton : 4/15/2018 8:50 pm : link
...more than McGlinchey, but I'm assuming all three will be gone when the Giants are on the clock. After that it gets real murky with Crosby, Ragnow, Hernandez, Brown, Corbett, Rankin, Price, Daniels, Smith, and Miller all bunched together in no particular order and then a day three tier that bunches together O'Neill, Parker, Jones, Cappa, Noteboom, and Teller.
It may help

If you put more information on who is who. We aren't all so well versed in every OL to know them by last name and then know school, first name, position, height, weight, etc. But your posts have mostly been shit so this fits right in.

I agree all three will be gone. I also expect Hernandez to be gone and possibly Daniels and maybe Price. Though I think Price makes rd 2. I like him. I also like Smith and Ragnow and Rankin and others mentioned above too.

It's too bad - I would like one more of these guys to last for our 3rd rd pick.

You are going to love Google when it becomes available in Virginia. I hate spoilers, so I won't tell you what it does.
Here is my board
Old Dirty : 4/16/2018 11:32 am : link
for OL & the rounds I'd expect them to go in:

1) Q. Nelson OG R1
2) M. McGlinchey OT R1
3) C. Williams OT R1
4) T. Crosby OT/G R1,2
5) I. Wynn OG R2
6) B. Smith OT/G R2
7) W. Hernandez OG R2
8) M. Rankin OT/G R2,3
9) F. Ragnow OG R3
10) O. Brown OT R3,4

If any of these players are available AFTER the round listed above, I'm taking them as long as there isn't better value at another position. I would love to get Crosby or Wynn in 2nd round. B. Smith would be great get late in 2nd or 3rd, but not sure he lasts that long.
