Was thinking the same thing
They have been trying to trade him for a while.
figgy2989 : 4/16/2018 10:41 am : link
Wonder why they decided to cut him now as opposed to getting closer to the draft to see if they could get anything back.
Sure, why not.

No one would trade for

He's a better player than Jonathan

The draft is only about a week and a half away. Maybe they already know the answer.
Miami had a trade worked out for him
Peppers : 4/16/2018 10:46 am : link
before backing out. Will be interesting to see if they jump back in.

Barkley @ 5 might have some legs after all.
Anderson would be a nice signing
jvm52106 : 4/16/2018 10:48 am : link
and that would end Barkley talk. I don't see it though.

Anderson to Patriots would be a nice move for him and them.

Article says they are rolling with Booker though. I think they just released him because they don't need him or his cap hit.
just like JStew
V.I.G. : 4/16/2018 10:49 am : link
can't stay on the field either

Why, because he went on IR in 2016? He doesn't get banged up that much.
I wouldn't say..
FatMan in Charlotte : 4/16/2018 10:55 am : link
he can't stay on the field. He played in every game last year and only has had one major injury - a torn miniscus.

He missed 9 games in 2016. Prior to that, he missed a game in 15 and a game in 14.

It isn't like he's chronically injured.
Love Anderson

such a fun player to watch.
Would have preferred him over Stewart

this ship has probably sailed.

+1. So a QB, or Barkley, the best player in the draft, are now possibilities for Denver @#2, as well as NYFG. Interesting.
Increasing trade possibilities.
Interesting.

That could be true or speculation. I know they think highly of Booker. Dallas tried to trade for him last season but the asking price was unreasonably high.

However, Booker is still a late 4th round pick who hasn't accomplished much as a pro. He would be a nice compliment to Barkley. He's a much stronger and decisive inside runner who could be used as a short yardage back.

terrible trade if he was included as he has a $4.5 million salary.
But

Walter Football's facebook friend said he was the cornerstone to our trade with Denver and would solve our RB problem?!

Possibly.. Going off of what I've heard about them I think they let the board fall where it may and stay @ 5. They like Rosen, but how much? With Keenum and Lynch I doubt they make a move up for what it will cost to get 2. I know they think they can get it back on track quickly. In my opinion, Barkley or Nelson make the most sense if that's true.
LOL - So much for that Bronco's fan trade rumor

Stewart.
Could be he’s just not the same player he was 2 or three years ago.
barens : 4/16/2018 12:32 pm : link
He’s only 27, but for running backs, it wouldn’t be out of the norm for him to be done either.

arcarsenal : 4/16/2018 12:52 pm : link
I'd prefer Anderson over Stewart but Anderson strikes me as a guy who isn't going to last much longer.

He was really impressive in 2014 - the last 2 years he's been solid but unspectacular.

He's best-served as a guy you pair with a quicker scatback and bang between the tackles 10-12 times a game.

Tough runner with a low center of gravity - not terribly explosive.

He'll find a role elsewhere.

The question in my mind is are they going to be in the market to trade with us for Barkly? And what are they willing to give up?
