they locked on to him really early, I posted it here at the beginning of MARCH that year. And, two weeks later was told he was the target at #9. Holy Telegraphing ...
...with any LT in the league, much less one out of the top 32 starters and a first rounder? Either he’s inept and never had the goods to begin with or we have totally failed in developing and coaching him. He doesn’t appear to want to strike a middle balance and be groomed as a RT. Bad deal all around, especially since this draft is light on top tier OT prospects.
you have answered the question as to why you haven't heard anything - - no one cares if he's there or not.
I know. I saw it this morning, so you guys have to see it too, but then I did try to find out if there have been any follow ups to the no-show articles on the 9th.
I know it's voluntary, but was wondering if there had been any reports on what he decided to do instead.
not sure if he whiffed on the first block but how does he whiff on the second guy? jfc. best thing that could happen is he gets cut and wheeler or biz starts the season at RT. flowers brings mediocre inconsistent play and a shitty attitude to boot. get this guy outta here.
still wonder if Flowers could be traded on draft day. His value is obviously low, but some team might give a day three pick and try and convert him to guard. I also wonder if Perkins could be traded if we draft Barkley.

I'd trade Flowers for a turkey sandwich at this point.
...and it doesn't even gave to be good, I'd take that Carolina shit.

As I mentioned the other day as a possibility with regards to his absence. If DG is looking to move Flowers, then he needs Flowers to be able to pass a physical with a new team. If Flowers was to tweak a muscle during the voluntary phase 1 strength/conditioning, then we would be stuck with him. If no trade occurs, then Flowers can report to the mandatory activities and compete for a spot.
I hate everyone of our OL players. Fluker, a mountain of a man, is stonewalled and rocked back on his heels after pulling with momentum. Jerry is unable to move his guy. Adams is trying to form a crease by blocking with his back. Flowers - Ole like a bull fighter.
Fuck them all. 3rd play of the game. They can't even blame being tired.

Hope you are right, but after looking at the clips above, who the hell is going to give anything of value for Ereck Flowers??? If Gettleman gets back a 7th round draft pick it will be a miracle...

A 7th and not having to pay his salary while also ridding the lockerroom of his shitty attitude? I hope Dave takes that without hesitation.
you see in both clips is the one thing that can never be corrected and taught, balance.. He is so awkward and off balance all the time. He is one of the worst OT's I have ever seen drafted that high.
it prevents Engram from getting his hat across the defender's body which then leads to the embarrassment of Fluker being the guy's bitch. So many moving parts when one guy fails to do his job, others can't do theirs. I hate last year.

Ellison should be credited with an assist on the tackle.

If someone just agrees to take his salary that would be a win. If the Giants cut him, is there any cap relief at all or just dead money? Really should have more latitude cap-wise for top round draft choices who are immediate busts. Truthfully, we knew this was a terrible reach by about the second play of his first pre-season game... I am still cursing the Redskins for drafting Scherff with the fifth pick that year... and Reese for not taking Gurley!

And this was by far the Giants best game of last season! I would hate to see the clips from the bad games...

You are right. I thought it was Engram. I thought he looked awful small. But the fact that it was Ellison makes it worse as he was our touted blocking specialist TE. The more I watch that clip the more I become angry.
If he is released, it is all dead money. As a first round pick, his contract is guaranteed. The best case is if we can unload him for someone to pick up his salary this year then we would only be on the hook for the remaining pro-rated signing bonus hit.
Chip the DE to get upfield quicker.
Looked more like a potato chip himself.
Seems he ran the wrong blocking scheme for the the play...Or EE did.
It's just that he wiffed too many other times too.
He will battle for RT, and likely not get the job, be back up 1 year, and gone...unless he's a June 1 cut due to cap.

Reese took way to many chances on potential ... than actual performance. I am surprised he lasted as long as he did and can't believe the Giants thought it was TC's fault. TC was fired first.
When you draft on measurables, this is what you get. Â
Do we really want his around? BUST - ( New Window )
While I definitely don't want to see him lineup at LT this year...this video shows our RB run across the line to only trip up Flowers who is trying to block one of the better DE's in the NFL

Jones actually maintains his block on his man throughout the play. But the rest of the line, yikes.

I wonder what Flowers thinks when he sees tapes of himself. Holy shit, embarrassing.

Judging by his demeanor, he couldn't care less about his putrid play.
Poor Eli
It's not even an honest to goodness whiff, it's like brain seizure or something.

It takes a special kind of suck to whiff on attempts to block 3 different guys on one play

Yup good point - saying he whiffed implies he at least tried to block the second guy...he was more just standing near him wondering what to do

Allen is still my top QB XD
But the rest of the line was pathetic, too....
What the hell was Solari doing Sunday to Sunday?
Maybe they read one of those studies .McL has been linking to.
But running backs are a dime a dozen! Can get one anywhere!
Fucking garbage.
Guard.
Guard.
Guard.
Guard.
Security guard.
Security guard.
Security guard.
And he was neither...
