Nothing Earth Shattering.
Patrick asked McShay who is the best QB in the draft; McShay quickly responded “Sam Darnold”.
McShay thought Rosen needed to find the right coach / organization to keep Rosen interested and motivated.
McShay thought Josh Allen could be another Big Ben or bust out of the league in 3 years.
On Mayfield, he said the Jets or Denver were possibilities.
Patrick asked McShay who is the best player in the 2018 draft; his quick, no hesitation answer, “Saquon Barkley”
Everyone misses sometimes. I'm not a McShat fanboy but I don't think him being wrong on a QB is Indica of anything.
The answer is 0. So when fans shit on an analyst because they misjudged a player it's just ludicrous. The NFL misses on players all the time. Happens in every draft, free, agency, etc.
Mcshay is a good listen.
Andrew Luck – 99
Matt Ryan – 98
Jameis Winston – 97
Sam Bradford – 97
Robert Griffin – 97
Mark Sanchez – 96
Matthew Stafford – 95
Blaine Gabbert – 95
Ryan Tannehill – 94
Sam Darnold – 94
Cam Newton – 93
Marcus Mariota – 93
Blake Bortles – 91
Carson Wentz – 91
Jared Goff – 91
Josh Allen – 91
Jake Locker – 90
Johnny Manziel – 90
Baker Mayfield – 90
Or that nobody has an idea. It's a crapshoot
Strange example to pick out. Richburg just became one of the highest paid interior linemen in the game
I think that is his point.

Allow me to elaborate
Andrew Luck – 99
Matt Ryan – 98
Jameis Winston – 97
Sam Bradford – 97
Robert Griffin – 97
Mark Sanchez – 96
Matthew Stafford – 95
Blaine Gabbert – 95
Ryan Tannehill – 94
Sam Darnold – 94
Cam Newton – 93
Marcus Mariota – 93
Blake Bortles – 91
Carson Wentz – 91
Jared Goff – 91
Josh Allen – 91
Jake Locker – 90
Johnny Manziel – 90
Baker Mayfield – 90
Whats your point? He missed on Sam Bradford? So did the fucking NFL
Sanchez
Tannehill
Gabbert
Bortles
RGIII
Manziel
So when they are wrong, it should work both ways....
So did the giants brass, who got fired for picks like this.
It's not easy. Mcshay does the best he can. His job is to introduce people like me to prospects I would otherwise not know about. Just like Sy, they'll have hits and misses.
Sanchez
Tannehill
Gabbert
Bortles
RGIII
Manziel
So did the NFL. Every one of those players were excellent in college.
Mike Shahhan is a 2x winning SB coach. He traded the farm for RG3. Everybody was wrong on the guy. All these guys you're mentinoing were taken in the first rd by NFL teams.
Everyone misses. It's part of the deal. It's why it's so hard.
The giants have proven to not know what they're doing as of late. They can easily be wrong and the niners right. Or vice versa. Or in the middle.
We'll see.

ok, Mrs. McShay.
ha ha. just kidding. I agree with your point (though I don't listen to and have no clue about his show).
system QB's getting a 97 rating should have some actual passing skill too

It's also why you shouldn't force a QB pick just because you have a high pick. Take the highest person available on your draft board.
I hate how snowflakes have even crept into athletics

Probably a bit strong on exaggeration. Guys with no passing skill don't do what he did at this level. And who's to say he was never going to be anything? You don't know what would've been if he had years to develop.
Sanchez
Tannehill
Gabbert
Bortles
RGIII
Manziel
Now not saying they are or would have been good - but you wonder if their progressions was stopped or alted due to the team/coaches they played for. Maybe Tannehill could have flourished under a guy like Kyle Shanahan. Maybe Sanchez could have been a better pro if drafted by an offensive guy instead of Rex Ryan.
Now some guys will always bust - but I think there are times where guys have talent and are jut in a no win situation.

If you believed Shanahan supporters, he did not support the Griffin trade.
It's like a lot of you people treat these draft prospects like they are your brother or something and get personally insulted when someone says anything negative about a guy.
I think the Giants should take Darnold but you can't say he doesn't have warts. It's also ridiculous to talk about how these guys will pan out in a vacuum.
So much of their success will be determined by which organization and coaching staff a player winds up with. For example, it's going to be infinitely harder to be a great success as a QB on the Jets than it will be on the Giants. It's just how it is. The franchises are different, the patience level is different, the fans are different, the expectations are different etc.

Posts that include "you people" are always a good approach.

Ironically, I hate how Jets fans have even crept into BBI.

on, but didn't McShay absolutely love Weston Richburg?

I know that I did.
It's an urban legend, or a SoCal version of an urban legend. Where are Mythbusters when you need them? I wonder if any of the thumbsuckers who buy into this narrative have ever talked to the kid.
+1.

And he also sucked the last two years and the Giants made it clear before FA started that they had zero interest in bringing him back.
