Tommy Kahnle has right-shoulder tendinitis, which probably explains his drop in velocity. The team believes it is minor (based on the MRI) and is hopeful that is will be resolved with a little rest. Luis Cessa was recalled to replace him.

Good news on Gleyer Torres. Gleyber Torres experienced mid-back tightness during yesterday's game and was removed. The team believes it is day-to-day and not serious. Won’t play tonight but is expected to be back in RailRiders lineup tomorrow.

Greg Bird is throwing in the outfield and hit off the tee for the first time today. Hopes to be doing full baseball activity by the end of next week, with a mid-may return.

Really, 11...Ellsbury doesn't count. Â

McKinney says he no longer feels any pain, but the team is not letting him throw yet. What's up with Albert Abreu and Domingo Acevedo? They are two of the team's better pitching prospects.

Albert Abreu had his appendix removed in February. Domingo Acevedo is on the 7-day DL experiencing back issues. He is expected to be promoted to AAA soon after he returns to acton.
