5 walks and no hits.
swap Judge and Stanton in the order. Make them pitch to Stanton
Quote:
at ball 4? Judge will not see a ball in the strike zone as long as Stanton stays cold. Need to move up Sanchez and maybe give Stanton a day off.

They are pitching to Stanton and he's is not hitting and swinging at shit. Sanchez or Didi need to move to 3rd and Stanton to 5 to get him out of the way and take pressure off Stanton.
... and then he makes a misplay, of course.
Why are you here? Aren't you a Red Sox fan?
- line up based on home run hitters: Stanton looks like Judge at his worst last year. While I know he had a similar start last year, I echo other posters who like a certain number of guys in the line up who can get on, get over and get in. It seems like its production from power or nothing from these guys. Big time pitchers will feast on that. We need some guys with line drive approaches at the plate it seems.
- Starting pitching is shaky again. Last year we were saddled with Piñeda's inconsistency, Tanaka being a pitching machine, but saved by Monty being a nice surprise every fifth day and our ridiculous rookies Judge and Sanchez (though not tech a rookie). This year we dont have that...yet. Monty looks shakey, Gray has an infuriating approach, Sanchez is middling. Gardner was also hot off the start last year and seems mor down to earth not to mentuon another year older.
3) Bullpen...Im less worried about this side except for Betances looking as inconsistent as he was the end of last year and Chapman is another year older and I have yet to see him hit triples on the gun multiple times in one game so far.
Again, I realize the time of year, injuries and weather, but all of the concerns I listed above I thought would be an issue and thats not mentioning the lack of confidence I have in Boone....based solely on his lack of experience. He doesnt push the right buttons, doesnt put down line ups I like and seems more binder driven than even Girardi. Things could change if/when Bird gets healthy and they bring up Gleyber, but this team sucks right now.
No contact with bases loaded and less than 2 out. 2B spot in the order is a hole right now. Torreyes would make contact.
Just awful plate appearances.
Boone as manager seems out of his league. Poor lineups questionable bullpen moves and a lot of small mistakes that turn into big problems. Tonight he gives a green light on 3-0 with two on to a hitter in a dreadful slump? That is nuts. Maybe he is pressing more then Stanton
We will right the ship but it didn't have to be this way.
Now Cessa is hurt.
Let's play more baseball in 40 deg weather.
Stanton will come around but I agree and thought so then that he is too much of same player they already have. But for today be is the least of their worries. Tanaka can't shit the bed against a minor league team.
They won 12-1 against the worst team in baseball kinda of hard to find trolls on that game thread, but tell wtf is there to complain about when the team is winning, usually whiners and trolls will be on these type of game threads so sorry you don’t approve to it Mr BBI police.
I don't see him balanced in the box with that stance in any way.
9-1
Relax. They haven't pitched for 5 days. They need work.

I know I sound like a broken record here, but Cashman has got to straighten out Boone or this season is done. He uses his two best relief pitchers in a 9-0 game ? ARE YOU F**KING KIDDING ME ? Collectively, this is like using Mariano Rivera in a 9-0 game. His mismanagement has already burnt out Kahnle, who's going to be next ? As I said in a previous post, these games are so one sided, both the wins and the losses that it can't be blamed on what Boone is doing or not doing, but the way Boone is mismanaging this bullpen the Yanks are going to continue to lose even after the starters, Stanton, Walker and who ever the hell else get on track. And again why in the hell is Torreyes sitting agains a left hander ? Boone is turning into McAdoo before our eyes !

After tomorrow they play 18 straight games without a off day they will have plenty of work then
Neil Walker has been AWFUL. Hopefully, Drury and Gleyber will be up soon. I know he homered tonight, but unless Andujar is going to play EVERY day, I wouldn't even bother calling him up. It's unfair to expect him to produce with inconsistent playing time. He's starting now, but he was mostly riding the bench after he got called up.
There's 5+ months left to the season... right?
