but I think Lebron and Simmons could work really well together. Not sure how you would defend a LBJ/BS PnR. You sag off you give either of them a runway to build momentum and get an easy finish at the rim.
Both need the ball in their hands, neither are consistent outside shooters..
For simmons to take the next step he needs to learn how to shoot, lebron learned to shoot adequate enough to the point where you can say but simmons cant shoot for shit
Do you guys pay attention to recent trades? When knicks make that trade offer it’s before free agency so spurs would have no idea Lebron is going to sign. So the 20119 pick with an injured KP could be considered a lottery pick plus a 2021 pick what else could spurs being expecting to get of the player demands a trade. If it takes the 2018 pick instead of 2019 then so be it. But the days of getting 3 lottery picks for a star are over. Look at the cousins trade from Sacramento. What do you think the Knicks would have to offer kawhi or Paul George? 2 first round picks and a young average shooting guard who may haveroom to grow is not a bad deal.

Embiid being a shooting threat allows for Philly to get away with Simmons to get away with a lack of a jumper. Surely a jumper would allow Simmons to elevate to insane levels, but I think Lebron would be able to make it work with Simmons.
Simmons likely won't be posting as many triple doubles should Lebron go to Philly, but he could play the Nance/TT roll man except on steroids and HGH. Jumper or no jumper I don't know how to successfully defend that. So far spacing hasn't really been a concern for Simmons.

Then let me know what the Knicks would have to pay for kawhi or George. You guys are all just so negative as I have been in the past, but the Knicks have the pieces in place to make a move, now if everyone would have just listened to me about Donovan Mitchell we would be in better shape. If Knicks have the opportunity to trade for a young star you have to make that move. I am not talking about a 32 year old star, someone like George or kawhi for the description. It only makes sense if Kanter opts out. If he doesn’t you stay put and play for 19 free agency and pray that KP doesn’t require extension now. If you can get a trade done this year and sign a start then you can go over cap to sign KP
You are full of it Mitchell was my number 1 guy and people who despise me on my knicks posts can back me up because I was so annoying about it. I was never that high in monk or Smith because of their defensive liabilities and tweener positions, you can doubt me on my trade idea but there is no way you can doubt my love and defense for drafting Donovan Mitchell.

My favorite player was Donovan Mitchell as well...that doesn't make what you're saying any more realistic.
You brought up Demarcus Cousins as an expiring deal more or less as an equivalent to Kawhi Leonard, a Finals MVP. They aren't in the same realm.
And it took essentially 2 lottery picks to get Cousins still, Hield (#7 overall I believe). At a minimum I would think it would require Frank, the pick this year and another unprotected pick.
If the price for Kawhi is as low as you are making it out to be, there will be at least 15 teams that could blow the offer out of the water.
To be interviewing Jackson and Woodson. No other team is considering those 2. I don’t think either of them had gotten interviews since they were fired.
Jackson has a ton of baggage but to me the most damning one is refusal to hire top assistants. He was constantly worried about them taking his job. That is an awful trait to have in a head coach.
Why aren’t they interviewing Bud, Clifford, Messina, Borrego, Williams etc? I’d be okay with Stack or Blatt but I wish they were looking at more.
And please stop with the Lebron and Kawhi talk. Zero chance.
Secondly maybe they are not interviewing bud because they dont want to have to give them picks...
Honestly because I don't view them as strong candidates. I can't think of a direct parallel, but wouldn't you be concerned if the Giants interviewed 2 coaches no other teams had any interest in?
The baggage with Jackson is really bad. And they just fired Woodson 3 seasons ago.
As for Bud- maybe thats true. But it doesn't sound like Atlanta wants compensation. And your telling me its okay to give up compensation for Scott Perry but not Coach Bud?
It's also frustating they aren't looking at Clifford, Messina, Van Gundy or other outside the box candidates.
He got fired off of 37 wins and that was with the Melo-led quitjob included. They haven't won 37 since. I wouldn't hire him back because that's ridiculous, but he wasn't the worst coach on Earth as BBI would try to convince some people.
They need someone who's a TOP offensive mind as head coach. This game is going completely towards drive/kick/finish/three point shooting. Did they even think about the European guy on the Spurs... Ettore Messina?????
RE: Woodson won 72 of 106 games as Knicks coach between 2011 & 2013. Â
This game is going completely towards drive/kick/finish/three point shooting.
Which is the main non-Knicks-are-embarrassing reason why I'm less interested in the NBA than ever, because it's boring as hell, but that's a different argument.

Wait....this guy is STILL pounding his chest about Mitchell? FFS man, we just went through an entire season, it’s time to let it go.

It is what it is. If a team has anyone beneath Shaq (which is 99.9% of the big men who've played), it's not even worth playing that way now. Even Embiid and Jokic have to hit threes and The Brow is shooting long jumpers. I LOVE Marvin Bagley and I'm not even sure how good he can be in today's game.
Misworded that. I meant and outside the box coaches. College guys, top assistants etc.
And I would want Van Gundy because he’s a good coach and basketball mind.
Outside of Stack, I’m just unimpressed with the target list. And I looked Woody as a coach but that last year really revealed a lot of his flaws. It just seems like it’s same old Knicks.

Kyrie is a great shooter so he could spot up when the ball was not in his hands..
I am sure they could make it work but I have said this if the Sixers want to add a 3rd star to after klay, he would be the perfect fit

Just....incorrect
Agreed

of the candidates in play.
Agreed
Only if all the other candidates are comatose or dead.

They were always going to interview jackson, and to think they werent is just being naive...
And 1 team has interviewed bud and they have already started interviewing other candidates...
How many teams are bnb interviewing messina?
How many teams are calling Clifford who was just fired
