Lets talk draft day plan

get home from work, dinner, get the kids to bed, quick workout, then draft time!

A buddy of mine started hosting a draft party in 2005. Started with four of us watching all day Saturday and Sunday. Now its a party of 60 people. Downstairs level has ESPN coverage and a big board. Upstairs has NFL Network. THree Kegs, Grills, Wings, food etc. Attire: NFL jersey to be worn for free entry.

Oh last year we started a jersey burning tradition where you can burn a jersey of a player who disappointed you.

Watch the Giants pick and turn the TV off and have fun with my children.

Throw them at whatever enters my sight first.

Then I sit down in my sofa and wait for the draft to start.

invite a few friends over to watch, I'll smoke up a brisket and wings. This year there is a real chance I may be in a delivery room with my wife. I semi-jokingly tell her that I'll still be watching the draft while she's in labor and that the middle name of our son will be whoever the Giants first pick is.

We b0th grew up in Ridgew00d. His br0ther, these are my 2 best friends, will c0me 0ver t00. We will eat s0me g00d f00d, I haven't decided what yet, and drink s0me tasty beers, and watch the draft c0verage. I like watching rounds 1-3, then after that I can just f0ll0w 0n my phone. I'll be at Merle Fest that weekend in Wilkesb0r0, s0 it will be a c00l Thur-Sun.

after the second pick, the Giants will be done. So used to waiting a while before we pick. Whatever I do, it's going to involve some good beer.

about why didn't the Giants trade down, trade up, draft this guy instead of that guy. It is pretty comical.

If the Giants trade down with the Bills and are picking every 10th pick, this could be must-see TV.

until I realized that the Thursday showing was the start of the draft. My husband and I got two tickets for an "event" viewing but I have decided to not go (my husband will bring his cousin instead) and I'll just have to see it at another time - I have no doubt by husband will want to see it again anyway. I thought about going and leaving the theater to watch the pick in the lobby but don't want to miss a bit of the movie, especially if the Giants decide to trade picks and move down that night. What were they thinking releasing that movie over NFL draft weekend? I know it likely won't hurt ticket sales that much but there is still quite a bit of overlap in the movie's target audience and NFL fans. Still, since the Giants don't have such a high pick that often, I'd rather watch the draft. Heaven knows it can't get here soon enough.

my son will be home and able to watch the draft with me. I'm very excited about that.

What will we do?

Freak out all day waiting for the Browns. Go absolutely nuts during the 10 minutes or so the Giants are on the clock trying to speculate about what's going to happen. Scream like crazy when the pick is announced. Watch highlights of the player picked and research like crazy while keeping the draft going in the background.

Sleep like babies, get up and get ready to do it again. And again.

Love the draft - even more so when family is around to enjoy it with.

take a shower, put something on the grill and wait for 9pm. Taking the next day off too, so it could get ugly later on.

Show. This year presents a dilemma as Game 1 of the western conferences semis may end up being next Thursday and there is no way I can pass up an opportunity to go to playoff game at Bridgestone Arena.

Oh well I can think of worse places to be than downtown Nashville On draft night.
