The Atlanta Braves today agreed to terms with free agent infielder José Bautista on a one-year minor-league contract for the 2018 season, and he has reported to Atlanta’s extended spring training complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. He will play third base.
Bautista losing his cool compilation - ( New Window )
I think he was a FA after last season. Not sure if he got a qualifying offer or not. If he did, that explains why no one wanted to sign him and also give up draft picks.
At 37, I think that goose is cooked.
At least with AGON (who I didn't even want) had an injury to deal with. Bautista was just bad.
Call him up, gdi. - ( New Window )
you finally found a rookie on your team who is actually good... unlike your NBA team :)
Ozzie Albies is flying under the radar but he is already a fantastic player at 2B. He has never faced a pitcher younger than him in his entire minor league and major league career.
Ramirez's peripherals were bad last season despite his low 3.19 ERA. A 4.88 FIP with a 4.2 BB/9 and 8.1 K/9 and 1.3 HR/9. The Braves have some very good LHP's in the bullpen now with Minter, Biddle, and Freeman.
3B Austin Riley is continuing to rake in AA .333/.391/.643 and he will be in AAA shortly. He will be a September call-up with a chance to be in Atlanta after the break.
Gohara will be in the rotation once he is ready. Probably 2-3 weeks away as his 1st rehab start was last night. In the mean time Fried and possibly Soroka will start in place of Sanchez.
