There are heavy rumors on the Pats board that Belichick hopes Rosen drops and they can trade up to nab Rosen. The Pats have two firsts remember.
I pray the Giants take Rosen at #2, my fear is that he lands with the Jets, or worse, with the Pats. That would be just swell if the Pats get the next Tom Brady and we wind up with a running back who will be declining by the time he is 28.
Belichick is right again.
His boss was a big Barkley fan, too.
his handle
And they shouldn't have to move up too far, if at all actually, to take LamJax.
However.
1- Who cares what the Pats or Bill think?
2- The red flag is the concussions for me. The guy is one good hit away from a career being done.
3- Why are you so concerned that he ends up with the Jets? You can always become a Jets fan and follow your boy there. Well until game 3 or 4 where he gets rocked and he is done.
4- Yes maybe Barkley will be on the decline by 28. In the meantime he will be tearing it up and makeing the Giants a much better team. Fair trade IMO.
Just sayin

Saying things like this is what makes these discussions turn into neverending circular arguments. He is not "one good hit from a career being done" and there would be literally no way whatsoever you could make that claim stand up. Nate Solder's had at least three reported, documented concussion since his NFL career began. He's doing fine.
I am by no means an expert nor do I have a doctor's degree. I have had to take quite a few mandatory courses on concussions, and head trama etc... Mandated by Football Canada the last couple of years. Few things that stuck out very clearly. Yes. The amount of concussions a person can take differs. However. Two is the red flag number. If they are within the same season that is even a bigger red flag. Some of things that they have showed me are truly scary.
So you may disagree. That is fine. You have that right. However. With what they are learning daily about the cause and effect of concussions. It is too risky IMO to take that kind of risk with a second pick.
Barkley will have a strong career.
How exactly do you know he the “real deal”?? I’ve watched him a bit, and wasn’t overly impressed. I watch the UCLA/USC game and thought he had a pretty good first half where he definitely looked better than Darnold, but that was it.

I don't agree it is a fair trade. Please consider positional value.. just in one season alone. A league average QB is more valuable than the best RB in the league. That is why Kirk Cousins will get $84M fully guaranteed and the best RB in football, Lev Bell, can't even get a contract. Then add to that additional years of value. RBs are done in 5 to 6 years, at least their peak value is done, some are done sooner like Chris Johnson (who Bark is often compared to). So in the case of CJ, he looked the much better pick than Matt Ryan (who came out in the same draft) in year 3, but now we know Matt Ryan is the greater player. Ryan is going to the playoffs every year and CJ is DONE.
Now look at Rosen and Barkley. I think Rosen has a much better chance to become a top-15 back, than Barkley has a chance to become Barry Sanders. And even if Barkley does, I would contend Rosen would still be more valuable as a top-12 guy. And in terms of career value, it won't be close. QB is a better investment and QB is a better gamble. And for the record I think Rosen can be much better than top-12. I think he has a chance to be really elite. And an elite QB is by far the most valuable player in the game. Rodgers, Brady, Peyton are more than twice as valuable as Saquon can ever possibly be, no matter how good he gets.
