With a 4th grader, I hear how kids bully other kids. Luckily, my son is not being subjected to that. We talk about it all the time and he is very open with me about what is happening each day.

You really have to be engaged and on top of it as a parent. Sad stuff.
Well done

What a great example of a young kid handling a really tough situation creatively, as opposed to scarier alternatives
As a Red Sox fan.....

Excellent point. Says a lot about the girl. Clearly someone in the organization understood that.
Wow

What more can you say. I hope those kids who are bullying her for whatever reason get their's. I know that two wrongs don't make a right but sometimes people need to get a little bit of their own medicine to get the point.

Yeah that’s what really stands out to me about this. We all know the horror stories of when a kid who’s gone through this ends up hurting themself and/or others at some point in the future...I’m floored a young girl would think to do this (and have the courage to do it).

An example of when social media (and professional athletes) get it right.

Terrific job.

That has to mean the world to that little girl.

Not ashamed to say reading all of that and seeing the videos

made this soon to be 50 year old cry. My 13 year old daughter has gone through that not to that level, but similar types of stuff. I agree that it was such an awesome way to handle it. That girl is a true hero. Can't wait to see the day the Yanks host her. What an awesome day that will be for her.
As expected pure class

This is really awesome. Not a Yankees fan, but that doesn't matter. Really touching gesture and a great story.

Kids can be brutal. I feel like it's even worse now than maybe it was when most of us were that age.
It's great when athletes use their
