Not sure if it will happen or if it is even the smartest selection log term, but it is definitely the most exciting possible selection the Giants could make.
I am way to excited for this draft regardless of what happens.
a week and two days from now if that's our offense, the shine will have faded after a couple of hours and the pessimism will be running rampant about how the QB has been shot for most of his career, the WR would rather plan a boat trip than play football and the RB is worth less than a 4th string Guard.
With all his drops doesn’t belong in that picture. Might not be true in a year or two but he was bad last year.
Respectfully disagree.
64 catches for 722 yards and 6 TDs in his rookie season... with very little help from anywhere else on offense... is pretty damn good if you ask me. I think his drops are a bit overblown.
Detracts from the continuing need to upgrade the OL, linebacking corps and secondary. The number 2 and two number 3 picks are just as important.
I am of the get a quarterback school (Mr. Rosen), but it will be fun if the take Mr. Barkely as well. Either way, getting a day 2 guard that will allow them to convert short yardage is essential.
Also, they could be 6-10 just by not muffing so many special teams plays (kickoffs out of bounds, 15 yard punts). 8-8 is a more likely 'no improvement' record. Unfortunately, their last place finish doesn't look like it will yield a much easier schedule with SF on the rise and the NFC East much improved.
since he would be sitting on the bench for 2-3 years while Eli plays. Meanwhile Giants would waste Eli's last few years. That is why they won't draft a QBD in 1stg round this year.

That was my first thought as well. Engram with OBJ and Barkley would be a three headed monster no team would want to face.
Eli could be Barkley's dad.
Still better than Will Tye!
