If Cleveland didn't have 2 picks they would be negotiating

BigBlueDownTheShore : 4/19/2018 10:10 am
right now with the QB of their liking. It's really crazy that since they have 2 picks in the top 4 and who they pick #1 will have a domino affect on the rest of the draft.

Haven't seen so much drama with a the first 4 picks probably since the 2004.

Should be a fun event to watch unfold.
With the new rookie wage scale

Teams aren’t forced to negotiate with the #1 pick prior to the draft.

Most of the teams picking first like to build the relationship by making it clear (to the player if not to the public) before the draft. It takes some of the pressure off the player. Goff knew about a week before.
I'm pretty sure they no longer can negotiate ahead of time

For purposes of TV ratings, teams are no longer allowed to make a selection until they are officially on the clock on Thursday night.
I've had the question myself...

is the drama you're referring to real, or just perceived because of our position?

In other words, do other teams who have picked this high feel the same sense of drama each time, or does the top of this draft seem more dramatic than normal to Eagles fans?

My point was more, we would know who was getting drafted #1 around this time if the Browns didn't have 2 picks in the top 4.

They are going to keep us guessing up until the draft.

I think its because of 2 reasons

A) The Browns have 2 picks in the top 4
B) There are 5 QBs estimated to be taken in the 1st round. 4 should go in the top 5 picks.

If there were less QBs the draft would have way less drama attached to it.
